sooo cute! hope it gets here before she arrives so she can come home from the hospital in it :)
I haven't bought a 'going home' outfit as i think it'd be far too cute to let daddy buy one as a present for her once she's here lol

I've been very, very good about not buying new baby stuff (still got all the things from DD1)... but that starwrap might be my breaking point...!

    Very , very cute TL!!
Although I have ordered a bear pramsuit from the next sale for baby to come home in. hmmm.......

Hope you have a lovely last day. Must be v strange, especially as you're not going back at all.
I've already told my boss that she's not to do a a big fuss when I go on mat leave (all that attention and possibly having to give a "speech" back to everyone! Makes me sweat just thinking about it!!).

Lush we're so lucky with modern technology! :D Could you imagine if you had to wait around for letters!
Hope you get to have your me time.

My parents are around the corner, but wouldn't dream of just turning up unannounced. I'm lucky that the in-laws live in another city as I think they'd not be quite so good!

I've already said to hubby that I don't want anyone pacing the waiting room at the hospital and that ideally I'd like us to have time to bond as a new family just the 3 of us. So no visitors until we get home.
How realistic that is going to be I don't know.... MIL has already told me she's booked some of her holiday in march.

Jox Nothing useful to say but sending you some hugs.

Thanks for sharing your story Ellie. Congratulations again! Hope everyone's well today.
We've decided not to tell people we're in labour (even family) as they are all fairly close by and will be able to visit quickly when we're ready for them. The reality is once you've told, you'll get the regular 'how's it going?' 'When should we come?' texts which we just don't need when labour could be two hours or 48 hours...
Visit to maternity facilities at hospital yesterday was really reassuring and useful, felt quite emotional and scared going in but the midwifes were lovely and facilities fine. Aiming for a water birth in the birthing centre but traditional delivery suite is on same corridor should we need it.
    Best wishes all x

Can anyone recommend where to get raspberry leaf tea tablets from?
Also were they big/small tablets? Coated or horrid tasting!

As you can tell I'm not very good with tablets! But don't fancy having to drink loads of the tea version.

    !!!!!!!!!!

Edit: ok, just checked, it's not available on car seats. Phew!

Thought that Chinese predictor thingy would be a load of rubbish! And you ladies have proved it!!

Well, suppose I'd better get myself to work..... Will have a proper read back from last night when I get in.

Oh good, I couldnt bring myself to look!

I am going there this afternoon to look at furniture but would have annoyed me if I could have got it off the car seat!

I have the same thing with Dorothy Perkins. Ordered stuff off there then every 5 minutes I get emails offering bigger percentages and free delivery etc

OMG that is adorable. I think I might have to order one!!

Squirrel thats pretty funny! I told my DH about Ellies story and he said he reckoned he'd be fine. I said you might be, but I want to be in a hospital!! He said he does too incase of any problems, but feels like he'd be all ok with delivering a baby. Oh well I guess good to know he's confident he said something about you just push and Ill grab it :rotfl:
  • For all those who worry that OH wouldn't cope if baby arrived at home, I thought that too!

He normally goes woozy at the sight of blood - even had to look away when then took my blood sample at 20 week scan!

He was under strict instructions to stay at my head and not look at the business end when we made the birth plan, then on the day he had to do the exact opposite:rotfl::rotfl:

The ambulance control staff were excellent though, they told him really clearly exactly what to do until ambulance arrived.

I am really proud of him though - I reckon he deserves a special midwifery award :D:D.

I am currently looking down at my little one and wondering how it is possible to love someone so much when you only met them 2 days ago! He is just so adorable and I can't believe we were ever without him - (even though he fed hourly like clockwork through the night and I am therefore rather sleep deprived after sleeping in 15 min intervals myself)

Weather now gone rubbish so Kiddicare visit postponed til tomorrow. So now going to waste the afternoon looking at baby stuff and catching up on tv. Well the midwife did tell me to put my feet up!

Ellie thats amazing. I guess its one of those things where you dont have time to worry or freak out you just have to get on with the job! You should indeed be proud of him.

Your OH sounds like a star Ellie! My OH is a right big girl's blouse when it comes to 'gross things' (he's even getting some latex gloves for dealing with really bad nappies! :p) but I think that most people, including my OH, would step up to the mark when they really have to! My worry about it happening to me would be that we don't get a mobile signal in our bathroom and our home phone is a cheap corded one (basically only plugged in for making phone calls that would cost a lot from mobile otherwise it's kept in a drawer) so OH would be running between me and the phone! :p

Your afternoon sounds lovely Claire, enjoy it! :) I hope I can sneak away from work a bit early today... glad it's the weekend already. :) Going to be hard next week at work having to go in for 5 straight days without a mid-week break! Every day is one step closer to my maternity leave though! :D
