Thank you all. They were really nice, strapped a monitor on me and dip tested my urine. I felt baby moving....typical.
They looked at the chart after 30mins and said it was a very happy baby and didn't even need to do a scan. Relieved. They said they're open 24/7 and there's no reason to sit at home worried, and even if it's later tonight I'm welcome any time. The midwife even said it sounded like a girl.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
Thats great and showed you were right to go in. The alternative is sitting at home sick with worry.
The dr said that to me before, theyd rather you just came in and the baby kicked up a right load than you be at home.
So - very tiny problem compared to some of the stuff going on here at the moment, so just a whinge really.
I bought this special no voc paint from the nursery company, cost me £53 with postage for 2.5l.
We've done 2 coats today, and even though the paint underneath was cream, and the colour weve done is a cream white, its still looking patchy. It may look ok in the morning but if it doesnt, its really irritating because weve run out of paint and :
1 litre costs £33
2.5l costs £45
And wed need another 2.5l to make sure we had enough to do all the walls once more, 1l would be slightly too short. Although we could risk it and just miss out this one small wall thats hidden behind the door most of the time.
But whats really annoying, is that I just scrolled down on the website size selector thing to see how much 5l would have cost - and its £49!!
So for another £5 I could have had double the amount and wed have enough now to do a proper 3rd coat and maybe even a 4th not that that should really necessary! instead, if we get up tomorrow and it still looks bad were going to have to spend another £45 plus delivery! Really cant afford it.
DH thinks it will be ok especially as the furniture will be covering up a lot anyway, but I just really wish I had seen the price of the 5l tin before and ordered that! If wed had stuff left over we could have used it on the ceiling and not bought ceiling paint either. Grr.0 -
samtoby - can i be added to the list too please, due 07/04, team blue0

grrrr Claire, hate things like that. I know it seems like a trivial thing but its still annoying when that happens - particularly as thats a lot of money. We just went for low VOCs as opposed to non at all. Tin of paint for us was about £12 from B&Q!! Nursery is starting to look fab now with some £5 curtains we bought from eBay! Pics soon once we've got a few more bits in there!!
Just had another mammoth listing session on eBay too - must be a glutton for punishment!! Am definitely on first name terms with the woman in the local post office now!!!
Welcome to the newbies on the thread by the way!!! x0 -
Brought this over from the FB group so that I didn't have to type it all again:
As some of you may have already read, I miscarried little one earlier this morning. DH and I are doing well at the moment, mentally and physically. It was a little boy that we named Dale after my dads middle name.
We are now home and as good as we can be. DH has as much time off as we need and we are just trying to keep ourselves busy and distracted for a while. Thank you everyone for your kind words and support.0 -

Thats the thing - Im thinking god I could just buy a £12 tin and paint over the whole !!!!!!! lot but then Ive essentially wasted what I have spent so I cant win! Bit like when you stand in a queue for so long you cant leave because then you'll have wasted all that time you have already been in it lol. So really hoping it looks ok in the morning otherwise not sure what to do.
I need to get curtains too but cant buy any on standard sites like M&P which I liked some of their sale ones, as the window is quite wide so will no doubt end up being expensive.
Trust me Im glad to have these type of 'problems' just wish they werent costing me money0 -

Mrs TM Im glad your DH can be at home with you for as long as you need.
I was just thinking you really have been through the mill in more ways than one because of not only the obvious, but I know you didnt want to end up in hospital and then you ended up there for the very worst reason. I really hope you can be proud of yourself for getting through that because you really did sound anxious about it before. I really cant say how sorry and shocked I am0 -
Claire - It's definitely changed my mind about going into hospital to have the next one we will have. All I had for the pain was pethidine, which I didn't like, but I wasn't going to turn it away either. They did give me an anti sickness injection as well, which helped, but not as much as we had hoped. I'll probably be going into hospital for any little ones we have in the future.0

I guess even if you did decide to have a home birth for whatever reason, at least you would know IF you were to be transferred, hopefully that anxiety about the hospital would be gone and therefore would not add to your stress at that time. Or just in any situation where a person could end up in hospital - non baby related. So Im glad for you that being there didnt add any extra mental pain for you. Sounds like you did very well in the most horrible situation if thats all you had, I wish it hadnt made you ill though on top of everything. Glad you are at home now.0 -
