40 week appt tomorrow (at 39+6) and I'm weighing up whether to accept sweep or wait til next week. Pros: if baby comes sooner there's less waiting, less worrying, might lower chance of induction (which I'd prefer to avoid)... Cons: I'm not yet 40 weeks and not in a big hurry, not keen on an internal unless necessary, I can always do it next week instead...

Ultimatly its your decision - my friend had three before it actually did very much. I believe if you go in for induction they will try a sweep again just in case. Good luck with your appointment tomorrow :)

Baby's movements have seemed lighter, gentler and more infrequent than normal. Rang the labour ward and I'm going in to be checked. Scared even though baby has moved while we're in the car. Anyone know what happens, do they just put a monitor on my tum for an hour? I'm probably over reacting but it's hard to stop worrying and if I waited any later I'd have to wait until tomorrow and have both if us miss work.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!

No you're doing the right thing. The thing I read the other day said never go to sleep worrying always check. Tomorrow morning is a whole 12 hours away.

I'm sure baby is just having a quiet day if they're moving now but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Yes when I was in the hospital they had lots of ladies strapped up on the beds being monitored. I'm not sure how long for x

Claire is right Kynthia. I had to go in for monitoring yesterday due to reduced movements. Spent 30 mins on the CTG and I happily came home

Congrats Durham Girl! Lovely name too We all need some of that fast labour potion!

My midwife has told me that movements feel different as time goes on due to reduced space in there for baby to wiggle, hopefully that's all you're experiencing Kynthia. Still best to go and be monitored though, all the best x
