Hi all - hope someone can help me with some ideas here !!

OHs friends are all chipping in and buying us a present for when baby is here.. however I have to let them know what we want. No use telling them to choose as they are all youngish guys with no kids of their own. We have most essentials covered... got bottles, bath set, swing, moses basket and furniture... looking for something that's maybe more of a luxury than a necessity?

I'm thinking of asking for something which I would grudge spending money on myself if my colleagues give me an option! so far I'm thinking along the lines of a Pink Lining changing bag ;)

Have all of the above lol, really struggling with things :rotfl:

We don't have a lot of clothes but that's cos we don't know babies sex.. with them being typical guys I wouldn't tell them to get us clothes as I wouldn't trust them to pick nice lol!!

I'm in Norwich. I'm on the forum all of the time, and I love my friends here, it's just not quite the same as being able to call someone or visit with someone when you're feeling irrationally sad, lonely, or upset.

I have depression (medicated well, thankfully), and aspergers, so I have a very difficult time expressing myself and understanding body language, facial expressions, etc. At least on the forums, it's words, which I can handle.

I've been having really bad dreams for me lately as well, all having to do with DH leaving (which I know he would never do) or drifting away from me. I feel like I don't do enough around the house, and that I should do more because I'm a housewife. I hate the fact that I just don't feel like doing anything right now but sleep. :(

It also doesn't help that I'm worried about us having enough money for my indefinite leave to remain. I don't want to be kicked out of the country 3 week after mini-tm is born, which is when my spousal visa expires (4-July, mini is due 16-June).

Oh no!!! I would say men say men are A-holes but women are just as bad, my "friends" hate my OH despite us all starting out as mutual friends. In theory I know they have my best interests at heart, in reality however we're enemy number 1. These friends don't understand my depression, they don't understand how hard it is for me to keep in contact with people when I know deep down they're talking about us. Just another stress I don't need in the pregnancy. I haven't taken any of my tablets as ive been off them for over 1 and 1/2 years, determined not to go back there.
Sorry for depressing the thread and venting.

BigZ - woop woop on the contractions though :T fingers crossed not long for you now

    Vouchers? :p

My friend's work got her a baby blanket made (finished after the baby was born and name etc chosen) that was like knitted (but nice knitted not the scratchy kind ;)) with a pattern on it and the name, date of birth and weight of baby knitted into the design . No idea where they got it from or how much it was but it was really nice. ...?

    That sounds lovely.

I'm thinking either perfect prep machine ( but unsure as might BF but if I do will probably do a mix of both) or a playmat of some sort. I do have one but it's not musical or anything so could get a fancy one...
  • Con - how about a family photography session? I know it seems a little out of the ordinary but could get some really great pictures onto canvas print when LO is born?

The perfect prep machine starts from 4oz anyways so you'll have a bit of time to decide if you want to bf etc. I'm still to read up on the instructions but it looks really nice in the kitchen :)

Congrats Firefly, sorry it didn't quite go to plan but I'm sure it was all worth it in the end x

Well I had a slightly more settled sleep than usual (always do when I don't have the thought of work the next day) however still awake at 4.30!!

Got a busy day ahead of me... After all my eBay listings last weekend looks like I'll have about 25 parcels to send out this week!! Best get wrapping!

Nice to make a bit of money and space though!! X
