Afternoon ladies
BZ - Good luck! I hope this is the start of labour, that it doesn't go on too long and that you're not too tired
I too have been going to the toilet loads. I know for a fact the baby was on my bladder this morning as everytime they moved and kicked I wanted to go for a wee. Luckily it didn't last that long and I didn't have any accidents!
Can I ask how many nappies people are getting? I'm hoping to use reuseable nappies after the first month, but don't know how many disposable nappies I'll need. I have a pack of 50 pampers newborn, 6lb - 13lb, and then 40 Asda newborn for the same weight. Is that enough? It seems like loads but I don't know how often newborns neeed changing.
In one of my baby books it says up to 12 times a day - that seems an awful lot to me but being a first timer I have no idea !0 -
Good luck BZ!!! Will be lurking for baby news.
I was talking with parents last night about what I was looking forward to the most after pregnancy literally can not wait until I can eat pate on toast, drink archers and lemonade and not having strange cravings such as icing (midway through).
Have been discharged from consultant care, but before he discharged me he said to discuss having a sweep/being induced by the midwife next week. I'm 39 weeks on tuesday and finding it a bit odd - has anyone else had this experience?
There's been no serious problems so to speak of and last time seeing the midwife I was 4/5ths, ever since I'm sure she's dropped as getting more crampy etc.
Think I'm going to take a bump picture today as I've had so many different opinions on my bump size lol

I think we changed DD around 8 - 10 times a day. She's down to 4 a day now aged 26 months but it was certainly much, much more regular than that until she was weaned. 90 nappies won't be enough for a whole month, but unless you're miles from a supermarket I wouldn't bother getting any more just yet as you don't know if you'll like either of the brands until you try!0

Con - think I've heard 10-12 times a day being batted around too.
Although - we are holding off on getting too many in 'newborn' sizes as obviously we don't know what weight she'll come in at after birth and how quickly she'll put weight on so we've got a full nappy stacker and then think we will see how we get on - knowing my luck after two days we'll be out and I'll obsess about getting more!************************************

I thought I was doing well till about then too. Now they reach from pubic bone to just below belly button and there are loads! Hubs says they're nothing to worry about and that he doesnt see them, but it infuriates me as I know they're there and I really dont like them! I got bad stretch marks as a teenager when I dropped a load of weight quickly and they took years to go, but best thing for them was UV. So, although I'm not a sunbed bunny, think a little while after she's here I'll be going on a few to hopefuly reduce them a bit.
Good excuse to book a sunny holidayI keep convincing myself that my bump just isn't big enough at the moment. I don't know why as I've measured perfect at every mw appointment but I just keep comparing myself to bother people.
The girls at my antenatal class are around the same amount of weeks an they have giant round hard bumps whereas mine is lower and more squishy!! I'll try as take some pics later when I get home! Guess it's just how my body was beforehand (I have never been toned!). I'm not worried as I can still feel baby dancing away on there, However I'm just jealous of all the lovely enormous bumps!! Maybe it will still come towards the end!!
At my nct class we were all looking at each others bumps! At first I was like omg my bump is quite small compared to most ladies - however it turned out our baby is due the latest - about 3/4 weeks gap, everyone elses is end feb/beg march.Afternoon ladies

I bought pampers newborn but it says 4-11lbs?
I saw the size bigger that was the 6-13lb (just googling..says new baby?) but I thought if our baby was say only just 6lb or smaller than 7lb, they might be a bit big if it goes up to 13lb so figured we'd start with the 4-11 ones as that should cover all bases! Because I have heard a lot of stories about poo leaking out!
I bought a really small pack though, maybe like 24 or something?
We live near so many supermarkets I don't really want to buy much more until I know what size the baby is and if we like that brand. It would only take DH or my parents 10 mins to pop and buy something else.
So I think I'll buy one more small pack of the same sort of size, but just another brand and that will be it.
BZ how exciting!!0 -
I've only bought a small pack of nappies to take to the hospital with me. I didn't want to buy a massive pack incase that brand of nappies was rubbish. We have a big 24 hour shop nearby so I'll send my husband out if I need more supplies
I thought I'd have loads of stretch marks as I got them growing up but so far I only have a few. I have some deep ones on my hips and then my husband noticed a cluster of little ones under my bump - where I can't see! They literally appeared overnight.
Lovely bumps ladies! I've been measuring spot on for dates but have had loads of people tell me I'm tiny or massive. You can't win!
Still no news on the house. Come on Mr Solicitor!0 -
Re nappies - i remember anything from 6-12 changes a day, although i changed every time i fed due to advice i was given at the time and soon found out that wasnt completely necessary.
Just dont buy too many of one brand - i bought loads of huggies newborn ones before DS was born and we just didnt get on with them, I dont know why but they just leaked, I found pampers newborn the best although my friend had the opposite and much preferred huggies so it's hard to tell before theres a little bum in them to test them out.
Edited to say that apparantly breastfed babies poo more because it is easier/quicker to digest so if you are breastfeeding you may need more nappies!0 -
I've calculated for 12 nappies a day and think we have about a weeks worth of various brands. I got newborn as they are up to 11lb & I really hope baby isn't that big!!!
I have my first baby wash in the machine... Some reusable nappiesFirst baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -

Thanks for the good wishes

Good luck BZ! Rest and some food sounds like a very good plan to me, that and a nice soak in the bath if you feel like it.
AFM, not been around for a couple of days as ended up in hospital again with the hyperemesis - very embarrassing to have the ambulance out at 3am with all the neighbours staring, but the OOH GP put his foot down and sent me in - and to be fair, I felt horrendous so needed to be there. Got home this morning with strict instructions to take it steady for the next few days, so no baby shopping for me this weekendTeam Pink! Baby girl due 25/5/140
