Steps have gone up, did you do something special or was it a volunteering day? Have been inspired to Google jam recipes today. Do I really need a jam thermometer or is it ok to guess?

It was a volunteering day but am pacing the garden a lot more to get them up.

Personally, the only reason I bought a thermometer was because FSA require me to record temps. Best way to test for a set is the 'plate' test - pop a plate in the fridge, when you think it's done ( drips from spoon look jammy, i usually start testing about 5 mins after hitting rolling boil) drop a little jam on the plate, let it cool then push your finger through, if it wrinkles then it's at setting point :) almost always works, occaisionally I get a slight under set.

  • So today's goal update

    1) Spend day...I managed to lose my packet of baccy while out (brand new one as well:mad:) this morning so had to buy a new one...and impulse bought some sweeties too :o
    2) Nothing on the money making front today
    3) 6403 steps today...I'm throwing in a few squats each day now too :)
    4) Still just on the water, becoming a habit, in the shops Dad was looking at soft drinks and I actually felt mildly repelled by them...which is good I think?

  • I think something must be wrong with my scales. 3 weeks ago I weight 15st 9.8lb....this morning I weighed myself and apparently I now weigh 15st 1.4lb...seems a much bigger loss than I was expecting.

:rotfl:at the scale - I bet they're right, you've been doing really well on the steps and it is juice free June after all...
Hugs for today, sending calming thoughts - it will be fine I'm sure, and you will be fine. How's the garden?

  • The garden is okay, except for the unhappy looking squashes and the dying aubergines. The 3 courgette plants I have in the raised bed are HUGE! I'm having to water them almost constantly. Starting hardening off the squashes in case they were unhappy because they were getting too hot in the greenhouse.
