Uu Aussie 3 minute miracle conditioner, does a great job and smells good too, have more in the stash
Happy pampering xo0 -
Been a slow month for me, nothing bought in as yet although I had a near miss and got suckered by an e-mail voucher offer and dared to have a little 'look' at Salonskincare's last day of sale. I put a few things in my shopping basket to 'think' about but have since walked away and closed that idea down.
I had 4 little INS from the beginning of the month - free samples of L'Oreal iNOA shampoo and conditioning masque that the hairdresser was trying to 'encourage' me to buy. I promptly UU two of them to get rid asap and to balance the books I will use the other two later today. LOL
One UU of Clarins Super Restorative Day Cream 30ml this was a GWP that I forced myself to use. I ended up really liking it, but not sure I would rush out to buy it. I loved the fragrance but was a little bit on the heavy side for me.
I have a spluttering M&S Pure Radiance Hot Cloth Face Cleanser 200ml - this one has been hanging around and in daily use for what seems like months, I was desperate to see it gone at one point as I have others I am keen to start on but now it's near the end I will be sad to see it gone. There's loads left that I can't get at without breaking open the pump bottle that I was hoping to save and reuse. In the spirit of good old MSE I have put a bit of boiling water in and given it a good shake about to try and loosen it a little and presently have the bottle standing in a jug of boiling water hoping it will help slide some more product to the bottom.Mortgage

Sorry I forgot to say earlier welcome to any newcomers to the thread
Spent the evening going through my stash and reorganising it - anyone else love doing this?I love it but also feel very guilty.
Toiletries stash isn't too bad now, I have a lot of body lotion to use still and also a lot of bath products due to going a bit mad in the Lush sale. I just realised that before Christmas I only had 1 unopened shower gel left in the stash :T however, I gained another 3 at Christmas
The make up stash however is horrendous, particularly eyeshadows and lip products. I have a real problem with both of these. Most of this I have gained in the last year or so due to starting to read beauty blogs and watching you tube. I am appalled at how much money I must have spent in a year on make up. I tend to really want these sort of products after seeing them raved about. They then just sit in my stash unopened as I hardly ever wear eyeshadow or lip products:o:o
I've really got to do something about this. Went through everything this evening and left products out and I WILL start to use everything on rotation or give it away if I don't like it. I must stop looking at more things to buy. I know that I buy stuff when I feel down - it used to be clothes but has now changed to make up. Hardly buy any clothes anymore which is good but have just changed from one problem to another.
Sorry for the ramble!
I completely know what you mean KT!
I went through a period of watching those beauty videos in 2009-10, and this is when I increased my stash from a drawer full to a crazy amount. It took me quite a while to understand that more only stresses me out (storing it, needing to rotate it and devise plans to use it up to keep the guilt at bay). I also saw over and over that things I really really wanted then eventually became stuff shoved in a drawer that I needed to "use up asap". Quite a few other realisations along the way (including why it's beauty products in particular that I collect) and now I no longer buy like that but have the hangover from it - which is a lot of products to UU!0 -

I completely understand this. I have been/still am exactly the same, when I see the item in question on a blog/youtube video I have to have it and NOW. When I get it I am invariably at a loss to see why they raved about it, some things I have bought in this way have been great but a lip balm is a lip balm etc. I think I am over it now and as of 1st January I joined the NSK challenge (see sig) and am now making a huge effort to stop spending. I have bought a few things this month but mainly with points/vouchers and have only spent about £5, next month I won't be spending anything on beauty related items.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Thanks Parisian and Dolly - it is good to know I'm not on my own with this but I'm sorry you have both struggled too. Out of interest, do you still both watch youtube videos and read beauty blogs? I am wondering if the only way for me to overcome this is to just stop reading/watching but I really enjoy it.
Well done to you both - it sounds like you're doing really well and gives me hope! I originally got into so much debt partly by buying loads of clothes I don't need. As I said earlier, I have now swapped clothes buying for make up buying. I'm not getting into anymore debt now but all the make up buying is keeping me in debt and I really want to change this. I too used to just have a few small make up bags full of make up and now have a whole unit full of the stuff!0 -
First chance i got to go into a boots store today at lunch.... the shelves wear bare like they had been ransacked by a horde of crazy people (was it you lot?) only a few cheapy cheesy xmas mugs and xmas tags and wrapping paper were left to be found:rotfl:

You just reminded me of Hank's wife from Breaking Bad. Even her home decor was purple.
I got a PM about changing my password too but I haven't done it yet.
I seem to have got back in by logging on via Facebook. Will have to send MSE Towers another message though.I survived. Lingered for a long time in front of the shampoos but reminded myself of the BATHFULL I already have and walked away. I even said "no thankyou" to the No7 voucher at the till :A I don't count DH's carp in my list, mainly because he usually buys it all himself, but also because it would have pushed my total well over 300.
Woah, I have never had the strength to decline one of the vouchers at the till. My brain seems to accept these vouchers as a little thank you gift from Boots rather than being cynical and seeing them as the devilish plan to make me spend more!! I am so gullible - hence probably why I seem to have allowed my MSE account to be hacked !!Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Hi ladies. I've kind of ended up with a couple more INs this week. Not purchased but they are:-
1) Vaseline hand cream. Remember I donated the bottle of Elemis hand lotion to work colleagues cos it was making my skin react? One friend gave me an opened tube of L'occitane shea butter hand cream which I've UU. I then took a small tube of TBS Cranberry Joy hand cream into work and commented to another colleague that I don't particularly like it for her to present me with this opened tube of Vaseline hand cream as she said it was only fair as she was using the Elemis one. Nice thought I know and I do appreciate it really. Not sure how much product is in there. It is however quite runny in consistency so I will only have to use a little at a time.
2) Before Christmas I was using a small tub of LE Superbalm on my cuticles which I could then not find once the Christmas decorations had gone up. It has turned up under the settee and is still pretty full so will have to count it back into my stash list.
Other than that I have been pretty good and not bought anything. Have now managed to scrape (probably shouldn't have I know) the Gellish polish off my toe nails and have just repainted them with OPI Suzy's Hungary Again. Repainted my finger nails with OPI Mrs O'Leary's BBQ. Have just added some OPI Nail Polish Thinner to my Essie Good to Go topcoat as well. The level is just below the end of the brush now so don't know how much longer this will last.
OT. Had really good fun on Thursday night doing Miranda Hart's Maracattack. Has anyone else got this DVD? Am in search of maracas now.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Hi everyone, things have been a bit slow round here with the use ups but I finally have one to report:
Garnier sugar scrub - WBA as it was very scrubbing and very similar to the l'oreal exfotonic that I love just with a nicer scent! Now I'm moving on to the body shop coconut scrub which was a passed on to me by my mum as she doesn't use scrubs.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -

Why do you think it's been hacked? I got the PM about changing my password but haven't done it. My laptop usually keeps me logged in anyway.
If posts start appearing from me saying I've got my stash under control and only have one of everything then you'll know my account has been hacked! :rotfl:3 stone down, 3 more to go0
