That's really lovely dolly!
I have a UU today: Everstrong shampoo - I like this range, and WBA but maybe just not this specific one. I found the pepperminty smell was just a bit strange for hair.0 -
Thanks for the reply, it certainly makes me feel better knowing that there are other mad women out there
I really should know better being a more mature lady......ahem 41 year old stressed mother of three teenage boys :rotfl: but I, like you buy all these lovely goodies when I'm feeling down which really isn't the way to go is it!! My problem is that I keep all the nice things that I buy and when I want to use one of them I am like a looney frantically looking everywhere for 'the' item but can never bloody find it. I need to go through everything that I have and sort it out properly. My god you know that I've watched too many You Tube videos because now I'm considering buying the Alex 9 drawer unit and some muji drawers for all my stuff :rotfl:
When you mentioned in one of your posts about only having a bag full of make up last year and now have a chest full of the stuff I did a proper belly laugh........so thanks for that, you certainly cheered me up today
:rotfl: I am exactly the same! I bought myself the Ikea Helmer unit thing and some muji drawers after watching all the youtube videos :rotfl: I considered upgrading to the Alex but have resisted so far. Glad I made you laughI have spent the day watching youtube haul videos and filling up my basket on many a beauty website
:o I have been feeling pretty low recently so I know this is the problem. Sounds like you need to pamper yourself though every now and again with 3 teenage sons
KT2802 - I still watch some videos on Youtube but I don't feel the same need to buy. The reason for this is I have become much more cynical about the big guns on youtube or in the blogging world, some of them are having incredible lifestyles based purely on their earnings from uploading videos/blogging, they get loads of freebies too. They say they are honestly reviewing and that may well be the case but take a look at Ruth Crilly., Tanya Burr, Fleurdeforce and they are jetting off all over the world, fancy hotels, red carpet events and that is because of youtube viewers.
No-one is forced to watch obviously but I am now of a much more cynical mindset when they say something is sooo amazing and then they never mention it again. This is just my opinion and really just aimed at the big names not the smaller bloggers although I will say that the big names do put a lot of effort into their blogs but it is just a very successful selling tool disguised as friendly girl talk.
That's a very good point dolly. Is this a more recent thing? I have only got into youtube recently and was surprised how beauty bloggers can live off making videos and lead such glamourous lifestyles. I know that people have obviously worked hard to get there but I always feel quite envious when I see that some youtubers get so many freebies. I feel quite irritated at some of the blogs I have read as everything they review has not been purchased with their own money. I feel bad for the smaller bloggers although I guess, as we have both acknowledged, the bigger bloggers have presumably worked their way up through hard work.
I really like your last sentence about it being a successful selling tool disguised as friendly girl talk - that rings very true.
Great bookmark btw, it's lovely!0 -
am sure I posted something this morning but cannot see it!!!losing the plot big time0

Another use up to report: I've finished the Dove Visible Effects Nourishing Body Lotion 50ml. This would become a holy grail and I would definitely buy it again in future, but I'm not sure if it's now been discontinued.
It had a nice creamy consistency but wasn't greasy at all and felt really nourishing. The smell was really nice too and reminded me of DKNY Be Delicious which I sometimes wear.
Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician....0 -

I agree with you KT2802, I follow some of those blogs and my own stash list reflects a lot of their recommendations. I know I have a choice to switch off and ignore but am at an age where I feel mother nature could use some help and although I have reined it in a lot, it's so easy to get caught up in the latest 'must have' products that these bloggers are peddling; especially when others are jumping on the same bandwagon and confirming that yes they do 'in fact' make you look or feel amazing. They're never cheap products and whilst I do have income to support my level of spending, there is always temptation to up your game to the next level.
Whilst I am old enough and somewhat cynical enough to know better than believe some of the claims; I do feel mostly for the more easily influenced younger girls that are likely battling skin and image issues. I read from the comments some are following every word of these bloggers and are probably racking up debt in order to keep up with their online 'friends'.Mortgage

Thanks for the comments on the bookmark ladies.
Kiwisaver - you have made a very, very good point about the
young girls buying the bloggers/youtubers must have items. They see the lifestyle they are having and want to buy into that, these people are celebrities to them but much more accessible.
I have a uu

Still exists according to the Dove website: http://www.dove.co.uk/en/Products/Hand-Body-Lotions/Body-Lotion/Visible-Effects-Nourishing-Body-Lotion.aspx. However for some reason when you click through to buy it you can only get it from Ocado...
I'm nipping into town today so I can look in my Boots/Superdrug and get you some if you want?
