I'm only 34 but I'd rather stay in these days, have a takeaway, a few drinks at home, whack on a dvd & that's my night sorted! I'm probably what you call old before my time!!!!!
I'm a bit younger than you and feel the same. Would much rather do things at home (DVD, takeaway, friends, etc) than going out.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Depends on whether we get an invite or not!
We used to go round to our local working mens' club but after one year which was a complete fiasco - it was a struggle to get tickets even two days after they were released only to find out that the committee members had commandeered the tickets for their friends and family. When we complained they did find us tickets but the club was empty by ten o'clock on NYE!! and people that were left we didn't know anyway. Horrendous!!
Tonight however we are at home having had a chilled evening with a bottle of wine, the tv and the laptop - facebook is pinging away like mad because everyone is sending their messages now because at midnight nothing goes through cyberspace!!
I always think that the build up to NYE ends up being a bit of a damp squib and if you do go out it's such a long evening until you hit midnight that you go home 10 minutes after midnight!! :rotfl:
Happy New Year peeps!!

Going out is the new thing in my part of the world - Really only something since the mid/late 90s and it peaked about 2006/7 and has got noticeably less popular since.
Before than, the town used to empty at around 10pm as folk headed to their homes/parties for the bells - as had been the tradition for a great many years before.0 -
I'm 27 and I'm not out and neither are my friends! Can't bear the town on new year, loads of idiots out and everything's so expensive, especially taxis! Would rather be boring and stay in and save money

No-one out here. intermittent power cuts and a flood threat. No party either - all the more goodies for me!
