Spent the day at the shop yesterday tagging and pricing my stuff, and hanging it all up. Definitely need to make more clothes!
Biggest of Mooloo came over to see it for the first time. The windowsill is now all sanded down, primed and painted. Handed out all my price lists that I had with me. Another lady introduced herself. And she's opening a wedding dress shop in the new year, so we may be able to work together on her ladies alterations etc.
That would be good. Although I don't want to be making any!
Today I am relaxing, may go out for a walk later, visit a National Trust place or something. I have work all lined up for Tuesday. There isn't much else I can do at the shop until I can get some furniture down there .
We go to Norfolk on Friday for a long weekend before DGD returns to school on the. 4 th. Then I will open up from the 5th I think.
PhillsPad is going to do a few gentle strolls around town and do some leaflet drops for me. So while at home I will print what I can. Maybe do them double sided? To advertise the sewing and the alterations
    .

Many congratulations Mooloo it all seems to be coming together for you.

With regard to Twin 2, could it have been the morning after pill, and that she thought there might be a chance of her being pregnant because of not using contraception not that I know very much about these things?

Yes I will be hoping to make some Christmas things. Depending on what fabrics etc I have. I want to make a few more decorations like I did when I went on a course several years ago.
Today I meant to take the day off from shop mode. But we went to ikea and bought two huge tables. It was a struggle to get them up to the top floor ( had to dismantle parts of them). But they are now in. Chairs next.
Will cover them with an oil cloth so we don't loose things between the slats.
Off to put the picture on my blog .
Also one of the desks from the landlord is in, so I can go and work in the shop when I need to now.
    Windows washed inside and out.
Really pleased with my progress. Even better my tables were a gift!! Yeah.
Which means more money available for the chairs.

Just waiting for DGD to come home from her Grandad.
Went to Kidlington fabric shop and bought some oil cloth to cover my tables. Really pleased as it has reels of threads etc all over it.
Still need to get the chairs. But that will have to wait another day.
Spent the last hour or so sewing some jobs I had from Friday.
Went to do another and realised I've taken most of the threads down to the shop. So I will need to pop down there in the morning to get the colour I need! ( twit that I am).
Roast chicken for my tea, as it was on half price at Tesco on Saturday.
Another new customer referral this afternoon. Coming tomorrow just after 4pm.

Mooloo - I don't know what your local tip is like, but it might be worth a try for chairs. I saw a few at mine last time I was there and thought of you... but as my garage was full of windows, didn't have the space to store them. I do have a few that you can have (along with the mirror), so we'll have to catch up sometime soon!

greenbee I will go and take a look at the recycle centre near here as soon as I can. I was looking at chairs on wheels, as that's what I use so I can scoot from machine to machine, but actually I suppose most people would be sitting at dinning tables and using dining chairs.

DGD is back. Considering she's been for a big meal she's done nothing but eat since she got home !

I shall be having an early night as I'm so tired. So much on my mind.

Office-type chairs are usually pretty easy to come by as there are places that sell old office equipment. But a 'wanted' on freegle or freecycle locally is always worth a try. And you could always upcycle them with funky fabrics (and maybe even sell them on...)

Might be good to have a couple of comfy chairs where people can sit and chat and do hand sewing or knitting or crochet and have a cup of tea or coffee with you when you're not busy. If you encourage crafty people to hang out in the shop then maybe they will share their skills, or use your space (for a fee) to do their own workshops (or you can pay them to teach a class - more risky for you, but potentially more profitable).

Amazing how different you are to some time ago and I can't help feel it coincided to when you ditched some medication. or have I got that wrong?
