I have a device for taking credit cards over the mobile for over a year now. Probably will be needed when selling larger items like the sewing machines.
    So that's not a problem.

There's always Paypal too which people can use their own app on their phone to pay. Most people have smartphones these days.

The speed of the Mifi / dongle option will all depend on what internet connection is available in the area, i.e. GPRS, 3G or 4G. You'd want it to be a minimum of 3G to be anywhere near usable.
  • When I was at Crufts this year, many traders were using a PayPal credit card device.

Hi all, back from our little break in Norfolk.
I feel an early night will be coming on ! Really tired.
But I have a few jobs that need to be done today. Tomorrow I need to find £319.71 to pay the landlords insurance on the building. A lot higher then I was expecting and has thrown my budget completely. Thank goodness I put the machines on the credit card and not straight out of the business account. I shall have to remember to put the next years payments aside so I don't get caught out with two huge insurance bills next August/September!

The weather wasn't too bad and we had lots of walks on the beach. DGD actually swam in the outdoor pool as there was a mishap in the indoor and it was closed! I sat on the side and watched!!! (Coward).

Already have a new customer to sort out and only been home an hour.

    3 pairs of trousers shortened.
    1 dress neckline changed.
    1 school blazer pockets repaired.
A visit from Biggest of Mooloos and DGD2 this evening. With bags and boxes of clothes for me to use in the shop. Either for the Retrending or selling on the Pre-loved section.

The plate for the overlocker is changed. So I've been busy.
Time to get ready for bed I think.

Sitting in the shop with DGD. We have just finished assembling the chairs for upstairs. Now we are waiting for the delivery of the sewing machines. But just found out they are not coming until between 2 and 3pm. So time to kill. Have a few bits and pieces here, but no overlocker after collecting it yesterday to finish a job at home.
We walked down, well DGD rode her bike. So I didn't being it back with me.
One lady has taken away my card and wished me luck. I do need to change the cards, but that can wait. The insurances etc are the most important.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I wonder how much it would have to have a card done on something like a clothes label.

I lose cards all the time, but something that stood out like that would be memorable. Would it be horrific? Or a stamp and suitable ink for some plain fabric that you could snip off with pinking shears?

Shop is looking fabulous - Mooloo has worked so hard to get there so fast x

Enjoy playing with your embroidery machine xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Two hours playing with my machine Molly. It's a dual machine which is so much better then my other machine that only embroiders (when it's working ). I have embroidered a dolphin, DGDs favourite animal in the world. We watched them swimming beside our boat when we were in Tunisia, as well as the dolphin show at the animal park. Although she said Portugal dolphin show was better!
The guy came to look at the jobs I need doing, and is going to put shelves in my cupboard tomorrow for me.
The fire extinguishers need servicing and refilling, setting me back another £102 ASAP so I can get my fire certificate so the logo will definitely have to wait.
The lady came to collect her trousers and so my first cash over the door today.
One of my regular customers came down with a Good Luck Card for me, and some spare hangers. So I have quite a few hangers now. No doubt I will still need more if I am going to fill the middle floor with clothes.
I still need to work out my priorities on the second hand or Pre-loved section as they seam to call it here.
I don't want to tie up loads of money at the moment.
I have the steam press down at the shop, but I will still need an iron and ironing board there. I tried to do some appliqu! with the bonding paper but it was a bit difficult with the steam press.
However I really need to earn a lot more money first, before I spend any more. The month of August really has been only a few small cash jobs and the money into the bank was negligible. But now it will have to all be recorded etc, and paid into the bank rather then in the petty cash tin.
    Time to cook our dinner.

Perhaps I could have a play around on the machine and see what I can come up with. Feel ink may bleed on fabric when it is something small as lettering. I knew one lady who used to have a button seen on to her cards. Maybe my cow button?
    Food for thought anyway.
