Today we are gardening. The sun gas finally come out and I'm getting my veg patch back from the triffids!
I am fed up of "granny" every two minutes and will be glad DGD goes to holiday club tomorrow.
My Dad just text me ( hence come on here) to tell me they are bringing me back two sewing machines from France! They were too good a price to resist apparently !! So I am very Lucky!
That's two machines less to have to buy. They will just need servicing. as will all my machines really. And pat tested too!
Although that's a cost I did forget too factor into my start up calculations!
Looks like the cash flow forecast will require a bit more of a tweaking then!
The family are going to also have a clear out of clothes to donate to my Retrending pile! So that it's not all just my size stuff to begin with.
I also picked up some bits from the charity shop £ rail on Friday that are larger sizes to work on.
Right back to my gardening while the sun is out, and possibly a walk down the town to see the Motorbike Festival that is on today. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
A very practical question
If you are running the shop solo - would you be closing the shop when taking someone upstairs to the changing room or whilst doing fittings on the first floor ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
I would have to put a sign on the door to that effect to be honest. But I am hoping that I will be getting some "free" help from DS's Girlfriend who is at home doing nothing all day at the moment. As a bit of a hand to help pay off the money they owe me. I know they won't have the actual cash.
But I will try and work itWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Sorry that post got cut short. We went out to see some of the Motorbikes filling Beackley town centre and watch some stunt bike riders!
Made a little change and a rest from gardening.
The back garden looks a lot better, but the front still needs taming and I'm really not sure that I have the energy! I really need to move on to the ironing as we are running out of clothes that are wearable. The washings done, just the dreaded ironing!
So I better dig deep into that rather then the garden!
We walked passed the shop, and I had a good look at the window. The wooden frame really needs sanding down and re painting. Will have to see which member of the family and friends I can rope in too do that for me.
Right Ironing!!!!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Two hours of ironing. That's enough for a little while. Cup of tea time!
I have done so much writing these last few days that I've run out four pens! I will have to get some new ones tomorrow!
I still prefer to use good old pen and paper to brain storm. Write my diary etcWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

It's only the windowsill paint flaking. The rest of the place is in a reasonable condition, and I can start as it is really. I think it's just as easy for me to do it then to get him too do it. He is responsible for buildings. I'm responsible for keeping the place maintained inside.
The windows have to be cleaned once a month in the lease.
I will take detailed photographs off the place and store them on file along side the deposit deeds! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

I'd also be concerned that by doing this, you end up accepting responsibility for things which really aren't yours to worry about. The windows have to be cleaned once a month in the lease.I will take detailed photographs off the place and store them on file along side the deposit deeds!
A charity DH is involved with were very glad they'd done that when they ended a lease, and the landlords wanted them to put the building into tip-top condition when they'd acquired it in a dreadful state and were not on a full repairing lease. They'd done what they HAD to do to make it useable, but were now expected to make further repairs and re-decorate throughout. They produced the photos and haggled from there.
Although I know what you mean: we rent a building, which the landlord would like us to buy and which we would like to buy. We also find it easier to deal with minor issues than bother the landlord - but for anything major, we'd talk to him first.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
The landlord and his wife are a friendly couple. They just lost their disabled son. So I don't want to bother them for something little. But I also won't let things go if they are too bad. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0

so the deposit is now Paid. The paperwork done.
The keys will be mine in two weeks. Maybe sooner, once they clear out the top floor.
My funds are pretty depleted now, and for the next two weeks I will be earmarking the furniture etc from home, freegle etc to save as much as I can to get me up and running. I already have people asking for the lessons.
So the tables for the workroom/ and chairs will need to be a high priority.
The logo will have to be put on hold, as £350 is a huge amount of money to spend. Although I want to have the design as a registered mark not a generic one.
Time for the school club run and then back to the work in my room here. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
