Solicitor to check the lease over? Accountant to check your forecasts and remind you of costs you might have forgotten?
Draft documents are coming. Guy is a solicitor next door but one. Accountant is my niece.
I just need to update the insurances as will be needing to move it from house to premises, and check it's adequate that will Tweeks cash flow a bit.
Based cash flow from last years actual, mixed in with this years predicted. Predicting middle of the range figures, as don't expect huge sales to start, and will need to get the workshops sorted out and dates advertised to start with.
Waste disposal costs, water, phone/broadband, electric all factored in.
Business rates. Enquired, council say get small business relief till March 2015, may or may not get extended depends on Mr Cameron.
Stock will be what I already have to begin with, increasing options when I start to make money. As offering a service first and foremost and goods secondly that's not a problem.
Still need electrician to check wiring, and possibly fit more sockets will need a quote. Electric safety pat testing etc will need to be done annually.
Probably need Fire Safety Certificate too. Enquire tomorrow on costings.
Will need a music license if I play any music but that can wait.
Suppose that's not cheap.
Can you think of anything else I have missed?
Oh I can, I need a signwriter and a logo that's mine, and to register with Company House too.
Don't need VAT register until £81,000 turn over. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
You can get a logo for a fiver, apparently? HTH X
There is a Facebook link , I will send you that when I find it :-)
Good luck in the new venture.

Not a day I had planned. But had a lovely few hours with Molly.
So great to see her after quite a while.
DGD was thrilled to see her daughter who looked after her the other year. Before she went to University.
This afternoon I've been working on my paperwork.
DS has just arrived, the bomb she'll is GF is pregnant. Here we go again!
And breathe. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

No it's not my problem, but it will impact on our life at some stage. As she is still only 19, and very "needy".
But they are at least facing the facts and not brushing it under the carpet. I'm not sure how DS actually feels about it at the moment, but at least he's used to babies and little children around. Who knows they may be fine.
I've 15 minutes peace before I do back to collect DGD who I dropped off at her Mums for her tea. Bit of a trek just for a couple of hours, but she wanted to see her Mummy, and this weekend she is off down to the BFs I believe.
Did I tell you she had rung me yesterday morning asking me for £10 to buy lunch when she went on a course? I said no, you will have to have a bigger breakfast or a larger tea when you get back! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Please don't be derailed from your plans, the girl has a family surely, doesn't have to be you every time.
I came on to wish you good luck and hope you sew in the window to draw people in.
This is your year Mooloo, don't be distracted now.0 -
I am not thinking it's the end of the world at all. It's just another young couple who may need support.
Support is not difficult. Financial is now not possible as I have a future to build. at 53 with no pension and DGD nearly 7 years old, I am taking the leap for us. My family I will support as best I can, via knowledge and the like, but Bank is empty, even emergency fund gone, as I made such an impulse decision to rent the shop.
But if I fail it won't be for the lack of trying.
I joined MSE about 7 years ago when I was at the bottom of life, but I have riden the roller coaster and still here. So my time to shine! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning. It's a slow start for me today. I was so tired last night. Still not sleeping very well. Forgot it was bin day, so missed having them emptied, which isn't too big a problem as I haven't been here, but looks like next door have been using mine as an overflow so it will be tight for the next two weeks till empty time again.
A little time off this morning to potter around the house and tidy up. Do a bit of ironing (yuk), and maybe in the front garden as that's a bit overgrown. It will still give me thinking time, which is fine.
I yesterday, looked at the cost of the music license, it will depend on the sq ft, of the shop, but from about £125 a year.
So I may not be playing music for a little while, but we will see.
Although I do like to listen to the radio/CDs when I sew.
I downloaded the Fire Safety info, and will sort out the risk assessment when I can get in. I shall ask the local fire service to come and give the shop the once over and check I haven't missed anything then.
I shall put the few pictures I have on my Mooloos blog today. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
http://mooloo61.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/my-own-shop.html?m=1
The shop has 3 floors.
I will start off sewing in the corner of the ground floor, and use it to display my Upcycled Clothes, and my small bags, and the other makes.
I will be using the middle floor as the main workshop space. There is a small changing cubicle next to the little loo and sink. So I can do fittings for alterations there. I plan to set out tables for 4-6 people to run workshops to teach sewing.
I will do workshops in School Holidays to teach youngsters, but will probably need to check if my current CRB will cover that.
But to start with I will run Basic lessons, and be covering getting to know your machine. Make Bunting, make Totebags, understanding a commercial pattern and pattern cutting. Make your own Knickers, that sort of thing.
On the top floor I will store my fabrics etc.
Eventually I want to sell patterns, threads, and try to get a franchise for sewing machines, but that will come later.
I think I have enough on my list! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
