  • It's amazing how many hotel rooms only have one or two sockets....even in this country. I alway travel with one, even in the UK. x

That's what always amuses me about these 'pack everything for a fortnight into one carry-on bag' - where are the chargers for phone, kindle, computer? And we each need our own so we can both charge things overnight!

I went to HK with work and stayed in a fabulous little boutique hotel designed by Phillipe Stark. Not one socket for a hairdryer anywhere near a mirror . It was a very aesthetically pleasing place though (unlike my hair :rotfl:).
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I travel a lot for work. With a laptop, ipad and 2 phones. All my chargers fit in a pouch in the bottom of my work backpack - laptop one is the biggest. I take one of the right kind of adapter on the laptop charger, and then have another charger with US/UK/Euro/Asia/USB in one block which charges one device via a 3-pin plug and another via USB (at the same time). I can also charge a phone via the USB port on my laptop. And I carry a fully charged powerock in case I need extra charge at any point. It will fully charge 3 devices before it needs recharging. I can travel for a fortnight for work with one BA-size carryon and my work backpack (and that includes suits, gym kit and stuff to wear when not working...)

It seems to be a regular issue. I don't think women design hotel rooms...

But that's two bags! the budget airlines only let you have one!

I am pretty organised in my packing: I too have a pouch where all the chargers and power leads go. I stuff shoes with underwear - mind you when I did that on our family USA trip, DS2 had to buy swimming trunks because he didn't find the pair I'd packed in his spare shoes. It didn't occur to me to ask if he'd looked there. I thought EVERYONE knew you stuffed underwear into shoes when packing.

I forgot to mention, we pretty much have to have a hold suitcase, DH needs (or at least has a VERY strong preference for!) a particular moisturising shower cream which we've never seen on the Canary Islands, nor in the airport branches of Superdrug.

    Or toilets.

But back on topic, hope Mooloo is having a great time!

We've just come back from five days in the Med flying with Easyjet. Plenty of room for chargers, tablets etc . I could have fitted the lap pie in too but didn't bother.

I've managed a week in Vegas with cabin sized case and laptop bag (I loathe hanging around waiting for bags and have had bags go astray a few times too).

Most people tend to overpack anyway.

Well, our next holiday we're trying with one hold case. I agree I tend to overpack, although I've also been known to forget vital things like bras ...

Savvy Sue, that is why I have a basic packing list in my phone notes. It includes knickers, bras, tablets, chargers etc...

It really helps, as it's the basic stuff whether I'm going away for one night or two weeks.

I'm a bit odd... I take a cabin-sized bag because I hate dealing with big suitcases. But I put it in the hold. Mostly because I want the plane to wait for me and work have a habit of 'just in time' delivery to the airport... And also because I CBA to drag it around the airport with me. Even with that I tend to have unworn things at the end (i'd rather take too much that too little) and if I don't have to take work stuff (suits, heels etc) then there is plenty of space.

I do have a list. Not sure what happened that time I forgot the bras. When the boys were small I had a list of each of them and would send them off to get what they needed. That worked really well.
