Also try any schools.Alot of them get re- furbed in the summer break and they often just skip old furniture. ask me how I know!!!!!0

I already have several machines, and two overlockers.
But I have started talking to Silver Sewing Machines, and going to open an account with them, and be a stockist for them. Allows me to purchase at a discount, and make money from sales.
I am currently looking at all the local selling sites.
Just trawling and trawling.
I have put the water on, and set up the account with AWA.
The electric meter is read and I will contact the company tomorrow.
Still waiting for the insurance to get back to me though. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
The insurance is £280 for the year, but they won't let me pay monthly, because of my Bankrupcy back in 2007.
That's the first negative I have had in about 4 years!
Oh well luckily I have the money in the bank to pay for it.
I think I have done most things I need to do except the council tax/business rates. That can wait till next week.
I will also have to pay the premiums on the landlords insurance which I don't like, but was part of the lease terms.
Luckily last years premium was only £85 so hopefully it won't be much more.
I have ordered the shop fittings needed to start me off,
The electric account is now set up too.
The forms have been returned for the sewing machine franchise too.
I had two new customers today as well as two returning ones.
Did some work, but not as much as I had wanted to do, as DGD is not very well.
DS and his GF came to visit last night, stayed for tea. He found the stop !!!! for me for the water. Down at the shop.
Noticed there is an alarm system fitted, didn't know was there but don't have the code number for it. May be a factory reset then!!
Tonight it's pasta and sausages as that's what DGD wanted. Bland food as she's not too good. And I'm too tired to cook two lots of food. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
:rotfl::coffee:Haha just noticed that the sensors have blocked out the name of the stop tap as it could have been a rude word!!! Haha love it!
Having a cuppa and then off to the shop to start the clean up.
My fittings have arrived already!!
The machine shop account will be open today.
Council said do the forms on line, so can do that in the evening.
Another new customer telephoned today for work to be done.
Finished a few other jobs, but just awaiting fabric choices for some thermal bags.
Then I can get on and make the bag organisers etc that there has been interest in. And other stock. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well the clean up is on hold as the landlord is emptying out the top floor so his stuff is in transit through. But on the plus side he is giving me 3 desks!!
So that's a great start. Saves me having to buy some straight away.
I'm feeling lucky today, and yet another new customer telephoned and is coming tomorrow.
Lunch time. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

When I get confident perhaps I will have to do internet lessons! Skype or you tube?
Tired now. Taking the evening off, going to have some wine and eat chocolate to celebrate I'm almost there!!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Enjoyed my wine, chocolate and switching off for the evening.
Today I am having a slow start and will potter at home on small jobs. Two more customers coming to the house this afternoon.
Three jobs came in last evening, to also do.
Hopefully DGD will be off for the weekend with her grandad. Then perhaps I will be able to get the shop front sanded down and painted, and the floors and cupboards cleaned. Then I can see what I can take down to the shop and set it out to be able to work in the window sooner rather then later.
Luckily I have two overlockers and two main machines, so I can work in both places!
I want to open as soon as I can. As I'm not earning very much at the moment as I no longer have the recycling centre to boost my income.
( although I believe I will make up for it soon).
Better get off the internet and get breakfast. Where did the last two hours go?When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well the day did t go exactly to plan, but when does it ever.
My Approved Food delivery came, an hour after the time slot. The contents of the large catering pack of French Onion Soup was evenly distributed through out both layers of the box! So after I took pictures, and when DGD had gone to her Grandad for the weekend, I spent an hour !, hoovering up powder and wiping all the other items that were in the two smaller boxes! What a mess!
I spent about two hours down the shop hoovering up the floors and the cobwebs etc. ( several spiders now homeless and up the Hoover! Sorry nature lovers!).
But the shop is starting to look clean and useable. With some fittings on the walls.
I am just waiting for the desks to come that the landlord has offered me. Then I could take down some of my machines and set up the things I have in stock down there.
But I can't start trading until the 1st as that's when my public liability insurance starts.
Twin2's in bother. She hasn't been home since Monday, her Landlady has been on the phone 3 times in the last 24 hours.
Complaining about the state of her room as much as the fact she's gone walk about again.
An Ex BF told me the other night that she told him she is pregnant!! All we needed to find out. I got hold of her through messanger on FB as she has left her phone at home. Apparantly it's true. But that she was going to the doctors yesterday. Last night she messaged that she had taken a tablet, and was now having to wait? Is that what they do to terminate these days?? It's so against the way I was brought up, but as she is not capable of bringing up a child, I suppose it's the most sensible thing to do. But I fear that she's going to be in for a rough time emotionally as well as physically. My heart is breaking that she is in such a mess. And so far away.
I am unable to help, hold her hand or anything.
Biggest of Mooloo is coming over this afternoon to see the shop for the first time. She sounded more excited then me about it.
The plan is to do the windowsill today.
Time for my shower and to get going! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I think you should be doing a bit of promoting once the shop is up and running.
Have you thought about contacting local WI and young wives groups at churches offering to do a talk/demo . They often need speakers and it is all about getting the word out.
If you have a local college that does graphic design you might be able to comission a student to design and make the sign above the shop for a very reasonable cost too.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0
