    Re the getting up to got to the loo thing - a few years ago I gave up dairy for a while in the desperate hope of helping a health issue. To my surprised, the unlooked for outcome was I stopped needing to get up and go to the loo 3 times a night.
    This is entirely anecdotal of course but I know how wearing broken sleep is so just thought I would mention my experience. Usual caveat etc, make sure you are getting the vitamins and minerals to replace what you get from dairy.
    I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
