Thankyou everybody. Had lunch out with a friend at Stoke bruerne canal, and walked the tow path for a while.
Back home now - it's a glorious day and DGD is enjoying the paddling pool.
My parents rang from France, and I got to talk to my brother and his partner. I had several cards at school from the Mums. And a pot plant from another.
You may notice no mention of my family- exactly- zip- nada- not a text message from a single one of them. Unless they have a surprise for me later ( which I doubt)- they have really upset me. I'm trying not to let it matter. But it hurts like hell.

    Many Happy Returns, Mooloo!

We're all thinking of you, and wishing you a very pleasant evening (which hopefully will include contact from the rest of your family). :)

Just had a text from twin2. Feeling rather cynical that it comes after I posted a Facebook status though!
    She's the one in Cornwall.
It's a beautiful day here. Sitting in the garden on the swing seat, drinking tea. ( will give up dairy another day!)

I never get disappointed these days. A couple of weeks before I say to my only offspring (male who lives with me still) what are we going to have for my birthday tea. Which triggers a look of panic, followed by a look of relief when he realises he still has a couple of weeks. To bf I ask at a similar time if he is taking me out to dinner to celebrate. I then sit back and wait and so far have not been disappointed. I am way beyond even hinting as they seem not to comprehend the hint. So blunt is best in this case! And I wish you an extremely, enormously, gloriously, fantastically.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Oh mine all knew, they had no excuse.
Only person who bothered was ExBF, he got a big bar of choccy wrapped up for DGD to give to me, which was very thoughtful. He said being a single parent means you don't have a partner to get you something from the kids. How true.
biggest finally rang at 7.30pm, and that sparked off a call from twin1, and a text from DS. But the "damage" was done. The day had a huge dampner on it for me, and my children didn't make me feel very loved or wanted. I feel guilty that it upset and bothered me, and I feel very childish, and I want to stamp my feet and sulk!!! Revenge is on my mind, and I feel like forgetting their birthdays, or babysitting times, or something.
The bank of Mum is definitely going to get even tighter, cos I feel very pieved!
But today is another day, I must let it go.
I will take DGD1 to Breakfast Club, I will go and care for DGD2, and no doubt I will get a late card and I will be greatful, and feel guilty that I have been upset.
Time to get moving or we will be late.
Think I really do need that holiday!
    7 more sleeps!

Happy belated birthday. I hope you enjoyed it in some way.
I too have had birthdays when I gave been lucky to get a text from my 4 adult children. We have had various issues over the years and mostly sorted them , but still I have had mothers days without a card from ANY of them before now , and when I have , I am stupidly touched.
I haven't really let them know how I feel , even though I have wanted too , my husband (not their dad) gets really cross on my behalf.
And yet I still help them out when they ask (well one of them mostly , but even that is easing off hopefully ).
Make sure you enjoy your holiday xx

There was a card waiting at Biggests for me. ( and I've gone and left it in the kitchen). She is struggling with her work, and was in tears about it. Needed a Mummy's hug. So I just have to suck it up and move on.
Though it hurts to see her messed up, as she's usually so solid and practical.
I have one of the suitcases back, so we can start to pack for the holiday now.
I am back home with DGD2, as I am expecting an Approved Food order, delivery, and so it's potter at home day.

Twin2's landlady has been on the phone again. Apparantly she wasn't home again last night, and the police have been out looking for her again.
    What ever next?
