Thanks. I shall be making a list of the things I want to include, and then type up some terms and conditions. Will need to look into the legalities I suppose.
Weird dreams last night, don't feel very rested.
School for my Monkey, and work at Recycle Centre for me.
Just want to share the fact that Twin2, did a Personal License course last Friday, and she passed it. So pleased for her. She has done so well. Living in a pub while growing up probably helped her a bit, but it shows she can learn something. Maybe one day she might get a pub job, where she can use it.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hi Mooloo,
I rarely post anywhere, but I like to catch up with your posts.
You have so much going on and you are so talented.
Anyway, I am posting to say that if you would like to see my own terms and conditions re work, I am happy to send you a copy, even though it is a totally different area, there may be some things you can use.
I can also ask some of the crafty folk I know if they have t & c's which they are willing to share and are more appropriate to you.
I hope you are keeping well.

There is one thing you need to be aware of re distance selling regulations, which is what you are doing.
If the customer doesn't like it, they can return it for a full refund.
Even if it's personalised ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Fully personalised items do not have the same rules applied.
New legislation is coming out to bring UK in line with EU, although I think that fully personalised items are still the same.
After all, if you make a specific, personalised item for someone and they change their mind, then you are stuck with it!
I also require full payment upfront for bespoke items, Mooloo and every single client has been happy to pay it :-)
I have included this bit of information that came up on my time line -
"Did you know that in June regulations for buying online are changing. We are coming into line with Europe.
One of the elements of this means that the cooling off period is extending from 7 days to 14 days. Only exception is fully personalised items.
IF you don't inform your customers about this cooling off period (in your T&Cs at least which need to be available during the checkout process) then they have a legal right to return said purchases to you within A YEAR and you have to refund.
Can you see why you need to know this stuff?
I will be sharing more about the changes soon so you can get prepared and make sure you stay legal!"
please not that this is not my personal advice, I am only sharing it with you for a bit of extra information xThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I must admit it's all a bit of a mystery to me.appreciate all the help I can get. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I am still shocked by the way that you have been spoken to. I would expect that my parents would wipe the floor with me if I ever dared to even utter anything along those lines. SHOCKING!
I sincerely hope that you had a full apology.
You are worth far more than that Mooloo. Please think about putting yourself first, along with your beautiful DGD. You are special and important to your grand-daughter. You are her world and she needs to you be a strong, independent woman.0 -

Maybe things have changed in the year or so since I watched that programme, but it is definitely something to be aware of.
I'm sure a lot of us only ever order clothing etc online because we know we CAN return it, no questions asked.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I think that my problem is not distance selling. Never had a problem with those orders. It is locals asking me to run them up, bespoke items, then cancelling because they have changed their minds, (run out of money),
People who ask me, loosely called friends who think as I work from home my time is not important.
Today I was due to teach a lady at 9.30
She cancelled on me 10 minutes ago. Doesn't leave me time to book anyone else and is had to turn another lady down because this one was booked in first. And it's not the first time she's done this.
I can't work out my income when all this happens. This week I have "lost" £118 worth of earnings. As My income had dropped by £210 a week recently, I NEED it!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Why not take a non-refundable deposit?.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Mooloo - you are going to have to start thinking "professionally" - and not "friends". You are not doing your friends a favour by giving tuition - they are not doing you favours by asking you to teach them - you are a professional, and as such, you are entitled to charge fees upfront - say for 5 lessons at a time - if people then have to cancel at short notice (say less than 1 day) then they forfeit the fee that they have already paid - although for emergencies - as long as less than one in a block - they might be able to rearrange AT YOUR CONVENIENCE!
Try and get your mindset into a "professional" mode - even if it means that you change what you are wearing - once you feel "professional" it is relatively easy to make others view you in the same light.
You deserve it!0
