Mooloo, you must live in my neck of the woods if you went to Canons Ashby house. Children's sewing parties, what an excellent idea :)

I live in Brackley now, since Dec 2010, when I moved for DGD.

Sitting working on a basics course at the moment.
Need to see how long it takes to work through the stages. So I know how to pace it, and the length of times with the customers. So I'm running through some on line to check!
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Sending you good wishes, Mooloo. Hope you aren't underselling yourself, although I know how hard it is to know how to price things up!

I probably am! But I will be monitoring how long it takes me, and also remember to cost in the overheads. I will tweak it as I settle in, and can launch a new pricelist in January.
My price list says from£ so I can add a little now, and still be covered by the current price list.

Morning. Struggling to sleep well these days. Must dig out my pillow mist tonight, and see if that helps. Of course my head is full of shop and home stuff now! So much to do. The basic courses are now started to formulate, and I have worked out dates and prices etc, and some course materials.
    Still plenty to do though.
Need to email them etc to those who Enquired.
And print some for handing out.
Time to wake up properly, get my lunch packed up, and wake DGD for school soon.
Twin1, sounded much better on the phone last night when DGD rang her. She said she will have her next Friday. So let's hope she hasn't succumbed to anythingelse by then! Once the courses start on a weekend she will need to step up to the mark!
Haven't heard anything from twin2 at all, nor her landlady.
Is no news good news? Probably not.
dS was over mid week, and although their benefits are still not sorted they had paid the rent to the landlady from his wages- nearly all his wages mind you, so I see food parcels and a can of petrol may be needed any day now if the housing benefit and job centre don't sort it soon.
Though it seems it's their own fault it's delayed and not the system. Dispite telling them what was needed, taking them wTching they didn't follow through immediately with the paperwork required.
Not my problem, except we know it may well be a call for help any day.
I have enough work to keep me going this morning, and most of the day. If the shop is quiet, and I have started to take some 2nd hand clothes down to sort and iron etc so I have plenty to do.
Although I have a bit of a tummy ache this morning. Hope it won't turn into anything major.
    Have a good day everyone.

And best of all get a hug or two. Thank goodness for Skype!

Happy to report another good day, with more jobs through the door. Day went so fast. I have jobs finished and ready to collect tomorrow.
Hoping my parents will come over to see me tomorrow or Wednesday.

    Wow. :T :T :T

I'm only an occasional reader of your posts, Mooloo, and dropped in tonight to see how things were going with you and your family ... and I'm blown away by the progress! This is absolutely fantastic, and I wish you all the best with your shop and plans :)

Have a notepad and pen by your bed. Write stuff down as you think of it. Then you don't have to worry about remembering it the next morning - and you may find you sleep a little more easily

  • Mooloo, how about running childrens sewing workshops through the holidays too. I have friends whose children go to one once a week, they love it. You could also offer an after school session to DGD s school as an extracurricular club, parents can pay for the chi of dren to attend, put out the feelers, should also help with promoting the shop
Remember to get your dbs check for your business if you are going down that rd too, which I am sure you have already explored.

    What's a DBS check?
I have already aimed workshops for children. In fact the first one is for children, ( for my nerves I thought it would be more fun to do,).
There has been a lot of interest. I have just sent out info to another 5 this morning!
I had a CRB check to be able to foster Dgd. So if I need another one, I'm not too worried.
Time to get on and wake DGD there will be a mini battle if I know her, as she was up and down all evening, and still awake at 10pm! She will be shattered!
Mind you I am tired too, as weird dreams and busy mind keeps waking me to. I will remember the notepad by the bed!!
