    Happy Monday everyone :-)

Not sure I am looking forward to work this morning. Though my job has been covered I still need to look back to the time I left on wednesday and check nothing has been missed!

I had a lovely time in London. I love visiting but it reminds me how how much I love where I live. Using the subway as part of my everyday routine would send me potty!

Money wise wasn't great. I spent £179 on my trip BUT £12 was a birthday present for DD2 for September, £7 was a present for my neighbours new baby which I was expecting to pay out anyway and then I spent £75 in h & m on clothes for the kids- ooppps. However this bought them quite a lot that they are in need of!

So £85 covered food, travel, magazine, theatre programme and presents.

Now back to scrimping and saving.

    Lunch from stores
    Pay cheque in
    Reconcile bank
Check up on DDs (they are with hubby at work today)
    Work hard
Eat healthily and go for a walk in my lunch half hour.
    Drink a litre of water
Catch up on MSE diaries :-)
Work out money situation and work out a plan for the rest of the month.
Meal plan for this week and next

    Happy Wednesday!

A long day at work today, 2 short days, a long day Monday and then a week off! Woohoo!

The girls are at tennis camp today so I must remember to text MIL to check its still okay to collect them!

Not much on today except for work and then getting the kids home to bed! Will check on MSE diaries when I get home.

My mum rang last night as she had had a tough couple of days. She has worked out that their income for last year is higher than she thought and a quick phone call to t@x cred1ts confirmed to her that paired with my sister going to uni she isn't entitled to any TC anymore. This is a drop of £300 a month for her so a big change. She is a little worried as things are quite tight anyway but she is also trying to look at the bright side as it means all the money they receive is money they have earned which is a nice feeling.

Hubby and I have both been thinking the same thing....our eating habits aren't great at the mo- we seem to be always eating out of the freezer and a lot is reduced processed stuff. So we are going to run the freezer down as much as poss and then start bulk making meals from scratch again.

I really need to shift some weight so am going to concentrate on decreasing portion sizes, hubby said perhaps use a side plate for dinner. I have resisted any thing nice this week choosing fruit and pistachios as snacks instead.

    Meal plan today;

    B- porridge
L - bacon and red lentil soup with one slice of whole meal bread, a yoghurt and some grapes.
D- cod in a butter sauce with veg

Snacks- banana, pistachios and 2 litres of water!

    That's me....catch up soon

    Hellloooo Diaryland

Well the kids have had two wonderful days playing tennis. It was that hot yesterday they have both caught the sun!

I am a happy fairy today as the Augusta Masters starts and I love watching golf :-)

Tonight is my cousins 18th so we are off to a pub venue to play skittle and darts tournaments and they are putting out curry for adults and sausages and chips for the kids :-) so a free dinner! Need to pop £20 from my present fund into his card today.

Food is very much the same as yesterday except it is a bacon and chicken chowder soup for lunch.

I resisted chocolate and sweet yesterday so I am pleased. :)

Off to St Austell camping next week so need to decide what activities to do. We are thinking the Eden project as we haven't been for quite a while but it is quite costly at £58. If we do this everything else will have to be walks!

We've looked at the Eden project before and were put off by the prices. They were steep.

Glad your kids are enjoying their holidays so far. Our school holidays don't start til next week which is good as I have had the sickness bug that's been going round. Glad I had it now while they are still in school.

St Austell sounds nice. And well done for resisting sweets and chocolate yesterday x

    Good morning :)

I hope the weather is as beautiful everywhere else as it is here! I finish at 1 today so am hoping the weather holds out so the kids and I can go for a walk.

The party last night was great. £7.20 spent on drinks and that was it! My DD1 got hit by a skittle pin while setting up but after a few tears she was back up again! A lot of fun all round for a Thursday night. Bit knackered today though as we didn't start making our way home until half eleven.

Bit of an expensive day yesterday as £20 to sponsor my boss, £20 for my cousin and £21 to pay for my skittle dinner and dance meal!

We also need to get passports for DH and DD1 this month! With dwindling money this will be difficult!

I really haven't been very successful this month but then hubby is paying some money off and then isn't supporting anything else money wise so I am carrying us in that respective. It'll get there in the end!

Starnac- I hope you feel better soon :( x

    Happy Monday Morning everyone.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Just work today and then I have a week off - I am literally giddy with excitement!

    Our weekend.....

Saturday was a lazy-ish day. We went and got passport photos done, filled out the forms, did some food shopping and then watched golf until 1am!

Sunday was a lovely day, started with cleaning the washing machine with a special solution we bought (this pleases me!), scrambled egg on toast for breakfast, then we packed a picnic. We met up with SIL, BIL and our 3yo nephew and walked from one coastal town to the next village. It was a coastal path which was interesting and had gorgeous views. Stopped for a picnic by the water and then went for an ice cream at our destination. We only had £3.00 on us so just bought the girls am ice cream. Then SIL treated hubby and I to one. So a lovely afternoon for £3! No parking fees either. Then home for a roast dinner and watching golf. We normally have dinner at MILs every Sunday so I really appreciate having a nice in day roast at home just the 4 of us.

That was my weekend. Trying to work out activities for our St Austell trip. We have ruled out the Eden project as it is so pricey. Instead we are going to chose to visit one out of 3 castles nearby and then either the lost gardens of heligan or a bird sanctuary. I don't really want to spend more than £50 on time out. We only have 3 days so the rest will be walking or chilling in our camping pod :)

Fingers crossed my day goes quickly!

    Morning all,

I am feeling a little bleugh about going to work today.....I have been off since last Monday so I am a bit stressed about catching up :-/ very much looking forward to 6pm today!

On a brighter note I had a lovely week off. A couple of days chilling and geocaching and then we were off to St Austell to camp in a camping pod. It was a great couple of days and I fully recommend the wooden camping pods! We visited St Mawes Castle and the Lost Gardens of St Heligan and then did some geocaching.

The girls got mountains of sweets and chocolate from family members so they were chuffed. We don't buy eggs but they didn't exactly miss out!

Money situation is dire due to spending my last £46 on DD1s passport. I'm not paid until next Wednesday! :-/

I am looking forward to my birthday passing so hubby and I can really club together and pay off the debts. At the moment I am not probing into his finances as I am not sure what he has done for my birthday.

    MSE things today;

  • Hi OF, just thought I would pop in and say hi! Hope the plans are all still going well and you're working through your lists!

Going to follow your lead and get on ebay this week and see if I can sell some bits and pieces. Looks like I am limited to 3 things per month for some reason, but I've not been on for ages so could be why!

Hope payday doesn't take too long to come around for you - hate the dreaded wait for payday!

    Hopefully catch up soon,
