Wow what a month
Thanks for checking in on me Mrs S and Crunchy
Well after getting a no from the job he went for he then emailed the boss to say he would work for less money on a probation period as he had nothing to lose.
The boss must have liked his directness as he got a verbal offer last week and then a written one yesterday and he starts on the 24th of November. So he handed his notice in today!!!
Financially this is great in stages. He is currently on £22k and this job will be £23k for 3 months, £25k for the next 3 months and then £27500 after that. So in the end it means an increase of £311 a month take home wages.
We would have then increased our income be £19k a year between us! Crazy!
So while this won't bring the df date forward it will increase our income as we become debt free.
Will catch up with diaries tomorrow :j:j

Oh yeah and to add quickly.........
Hubby paid the last £399 from the small card so it is now gone!!!! Woohoo
That takes us to £3154 so I'll pay £155 on payday Friday and we are under £3k
That will be it for a min as we have xmas and we aren't sure how wages will work out with hubby's job and if he will owe work money for holiday days.

wow that sounds fab with hubby's job. Good on him for being brave enough to approach the boss and ask. If you don't ask and all that!
Well done to both of you on increasing your income so dramatically. You have increased your income by more than my annual salary!!!Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
I was missing your updates OF! Glad to have you back!
That is fantastic news for your hubby, I bet he is soooo glad that he approached them after the no - that really is great!!
Well done on being rid of the smaller card, always a bonus to get rid of accounts, I love it.
Hopefully you managed to pay in the £155 today and you'll be below £3k, I bet that feels great. Literally cannot wait to be in that position.
Know what you mean about Christmas, I'm trying to do it without going mad or breaking budgets, but I'm also a bit worried that DD KNOWS about christmas and I'll be gutted if this is her last year of believing and I can't get everything I want to get her!
Catch up with you soon,
Happy Friday

Hi all!
Lovely to see you Mrs S
Well the £155 was paid today. Hubby had paid £25 minimum on his card and I paid £130 from the sofa so we dipped his card under the £2.3k mark and the sofas from £842 to £712...a little part of me wants to pay £13 to get it under £700
Mrs S - my 11 year old KNOWS for the first time this year which is a bit sad but my 9 year old still completely believes so I am clinging on to that for a little longer!
We will have to be a little careful with money as hubby will only get 3 weeks (or less if they take off holiday) this month and I expect the new job will tag his extra week to the end of December so we may be a little short for xmas. Will see how it goes!
Well this week has been tough - 45 hours to work while the kids were off schoolSo they have been passed from pillar to post while I have done 10/11 hour days Mon-Thurs. I only had to do a 5 hour day yesterday so I am now home getting DD2 ready to go to cup camp for the weekend!
Happy Halloween everyone:D:D:D:D
