  • Morning all,

Well this week is concentrating on getting dd2s bedroom done and my sister leaving for Uni :-(

I am so sad about her going. I've never been more than 3 weeks without seeing any of my 5 siblings so it will be really weird. Tonight we are having a bit of a tea party and games as a goodbye event but will actually say goodbye tomorrow night at my other sisters 9th birthday.

DD2s last couple of bits of furniture will arrive this evening and I painted last night. It was the most boring paint session I had ever had- magnolia on top of magnolia. Just wanted to freshen it up a bit. BIL is coming round to wallpaper the feature wall stripey green and then we can start putting all the stuff back in.

Not much money news as I am a bit spendy with DDs birthday.

It will just be waiting until the end of the month to see if what I have left is enough to cover the furniture purchased in hope I don't have to increase my debt figure- I don't want to go that way!!

    Debt-free and Proud!
Here's hoping the figures go the right way. Have you tried YNAB? It is amazing to make you able to be on top of every penny, even a few months in advance.

Hope your sisters party goes well, sounds fun:)

  • Morning all

Wow it's been a while! What a crazy September!

Had DDs birthday and sister leaving for uni. Plus the sacking of a guy as work which has increased our job roles!

Waiting for hubby to hear back from one job and go fora second interview for another. So fingers crossed!!!!

DDs bedroom looks amazing- I am so proud of it. However I think maybe it is a little nice and grown up for a 9 year olds bedroom!

My selfish news is that I got my iPhone 6 which is costing me £20 extra a month but I am not going to worry about it as it makes me happy :)

Money wise we are getting over the £900/£1000 DDs bedroom cost! But good news is that we reached my goal of sub £4k by the end of September. Hubby's smaller card is now down to £700. I wanted it to be £699 to break the £700 mark but he wants an even number. I make the next payment to it today of £300 so perhaps I'll pay £301! :)

That's it for me this morning!

  • Welcome back OF!! Time certainly does fly and its sounds as if you have been a busy fairy! Glad to hear your happy with DD's bedroom, I'm sure she will be too!

Fingers crossed for your hubby with the interviews! Are the jobs more money, or just better jobs?

As for your iPhone, well we all need a little something to keep us going while we debt bust don't we? Plus you are getting so close now, it must be exciting being that close to zero balances!

I'll need to get back in the saddle and get my diary updated, its also been a bit neglected so I plan to have a "money night" tonight and get things back in order.

    Chat soon no doubt!

    Morning Diaryland

Hi Mrs S- I hope you are well. Will pop over to your diary for a catch up later when I get home.

Both jobs would have been for a £5k pay rise. However he got a no yesterday from the permanent one but he had to take positives from it as the guy really liked him and I don't think it was an easy decision. The other job he is waiting for a second interview date but that has been going on a week and a half! So fingers crossed it hasn't gone cold!

Today I am only working till 2.30 and then tomorrow I have my flexi friday. So a nice relaxing morning and then lunch with hubby as he has a half day which will be nice!

Will catch up with a money update later!

    Afternoon all!

Well I went and paid £301 to hubby's £700 card to get it under £400 :p Though he wanted a nice round number.

This brings our debt down to £3553 so I am pretty tempted to pay off £54 to get it under £3.5k but then I don't want to leave myself short with trips to pay for this month!

The plan is to get under £3k by the end of the month. This is easy enough as we have our next wage but the goal is to use as little of our next wage as poss. So watch this space!

Tonight I am out with my two girlfriends for dinner. One is meant to be buying mine as part exchange for some furniture but will see if she does.

Then tomorrow with be a cost for lunch but we haven't gone out for lunch together for ages.

I completely forgot until last night that DD1 was off to the Big Gig with guides on Saturday! I need to get stuff ready for snacks etc. It only cost £30 but we were expected to pay around another £23 for the coach so I chased it up and apparently they don't need it now as their fund-raising covered it so that is a bonus!

I need to start concentrating on the small things too. The last two days hubby and I have homemade leek and potato soup for lunch and I felt like I was being MSE again :A

Right off to practise spellings with DD2!

  • Right OF - I'm here to give you a row for not posting that you have decluttered and ebayed like you said you would! Just kidding, hope you managed to get it done though!

I would be like you and wanting to pay off the £34 to take it under £3.5k - but very sensible of you to wait and make sure you have enough for everything else first!

Hopefully your friend remembered she had offered to buy your lunch, that would be great.

Will be back later to check up on you! Trying to muster up the enthusiasm required to do the school run in the pouring rain.... needs must!

    Morning all,

Mrs S I'm ashamed to say I didn't list any eb@y items! I did loads of housework and so the house was spotless but that took me to 1pm and then hubby came back and we went out to lunch!

Hopefully will get some do this weekend.

We my friend didn't pay for my meal but pointed out we would go out again in a week or so. Her mum picked up the furniture yesterday so im glad to have that gone.

I feel like I have lost £90 this week as hubby asked if I had transferred the £93 for fuel money yet. I had gone through the process so assured him I had. But on checking my bank account it hasn't worked. I remember doing it so either I clicked cancel rather than submit or I closed the page before confirming. I'm gutted as it means I'm not doing as well with money as I thought! (A good reason for me to eb@y Mrs S)

Plodding along this week and hoping for a night I can have a good sleep. I'm knackered but can't seem to drift off at the moment.

Today is interviews at work. I'm hoping we hire one of the girls as it means my job role changes and I can concentrate on the areas that I like and they can support some of my admin stuff.

    Today brings....

    Lunch from stores
    Breakfast at work
    Finishing at 4.30pm
DD is at a party so doesn't need dinner
    Reconcile spends
    Check banking
    Help DD1 with homework
    Try to sleep!!!
