Yay to your pay rise. Congratulations.
We bought in car DVD players and they are invaluable. We bought the first one but because of the 4year age gap between the kids they don't want to watch the same thin, so my mum bought a second one between them for christmas last year. We make quite a lot of long journeys visiting family and to be honest I don't think we would do without them. Long journeys are a lot less stressful for me now. Definitely worth the moneyGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

Thanks Crunchy and Starnac! I am so pleased. I just need to work my butt off to prove I can be promoted into the office manager role to get another rise. Fingers crossed.
Well another week of the holidays is down. Just two more weeks of juggling the kids and the guilt of not being home with them! This also means just 2 weeks until our holiday!!!!!!
Starnac - I agree I think we need the in car DVD players. We drove to the South of France when the kids were 5 and 3 in 2009 and these were invaluable! Off the check some out online this weekend.
Well I have made all the payments I can really make this month I think. After £199 on DD2's bed and £200 on DD1's uniform I am a little short now!!
My plan was to pay off £500 over August and September to get the deby under £4k. Our first port of call was to pay £271 off hubby's second cc to get it under £1k. He paid the £30 minimum payment and I just paid £136 leaving him the remaining £105 to sortWith his other minimum payment of £25 this means we have paid off £191 of the £500 so far.
Need to ebay some bits and bobs really!!
The girls have had a lovely week. Mondya my Mum took them to the Big Sheep adventure park, tuesday SIL took them cinema and den building, Weds they came to the North Devon Show with me, Thurs they spent a day at the beach and then today the morning at my Nans.
This afternoon has been about cleaning the house/. DD2 voluntarily dragged the hoover upstairs and hoovered her bedroom before tidying and decluttering all her drawers! What a star!!
So just waiting for hubby to come back with some tea!

I love the Big Sheep. We used to go there as kids. It's on my Day Zero List to take my kids. How exciting.
Sounds like the kids are having a lovely holiday xGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Morning all!
What a dreary Monday morning it is!!
I hope you get to bring your kids to the Big Sheep Starnac. I have grown up going a few times a year. That and to the Milkywaythanks for the reminder- I need to check my day zero list!
My girlies don't have such an exciting week this week but I'm site they will have fun at the various places they are visiting while we work.
Didnt do too much at the weekend. DD1s friend came round for a sleep over. She is going to a different secondary school so I am really pleased we arranged this for them. They didnt sleep till 1.30am but they had fun!
We did go to the garden centre though and I spent £33.99 on plants! Ooppps! We have been meaning to get some hardy plants to fill our stone planter by our front door (well back door but the one everyone uses) as it has been completely empty this year. Last year we made the mistake of planting lots of pretty flowers in it which died off and left nothing for autumn/winter. I am really pleased with the ones we bought. Couldn't plant them last night though as we seem to suddenly be infested will slugs so I need to get pellets first.
That was my only spend over the weekend other than food shopping.
Today is just working hard as I have so much to do. :-/
I hope everyone is well

Morning MSE land
Well things are going okay, most of my energy is being spent sorting out things for my holiday! I got myself a couple of much needed tops yesterday in the Animal and FatFace sale. I need one more vest top and a swimming costume for myself and hubby needs a couple of tees, a couple of shorts and some speedos. Then we need to sort out the car DVD players quickly.
Yesterday I also found some Animal (ugg style boots) for £20 reduced from £32 so I bought both pairs. One to give to my sister for her birthday next month which is budgeted for in my present money. The other I bought for DD2 which I am going to sell to my Mum to give as her birthday present. This means both my girls are kitted out with winter boots as MIL bought DD1 some uggs for her bday. In fact thinking about it both my girls are kitted out for winter I think. They have lots of long sleeve tops and hoodies. Perhaps just a few pairs of leggings needed! So that is a positive MSE fact
Today is the only day in the hols we had no childcare so the girls are at hubby's work. They whined this morning but I pointed out it was only one day!
I found a fiver on the floor outside my house yesterday- woohoo. Every little helps. That pays for half of one of my tops
Right off to work now for a 10.5 hours day!!

Happy Thursday,
Nearly the weekend and boy am I looking forward to it!!!
Today is another long day at the office 8-6 but tomorrow is just 8-1 so not bad at all.
No saving news......just news of spending! We bought some refurbished in car DVD players for £59 last night. I have £30 in my paypal account from eBay sales so it cost me £29 which isn't too bad.
Ordered shorts for hubby to try on as he definitely needs another couple of pairs.
Ordered a load of swimming costumes for me to try on. Mostly all around the £10 mark in the sale which is fine.
Today I need to print off my new budget for September and hubby and I need to discuss what money we both have for spending money!

Nice MSE efforts Orange Fairy!! Was thinking the same for my toddler - he only needs a few bits for winter. Seems strange to be thinking about winter now but its definatley feeling more autumnal!
Keep it up!

Hi OF!
I'm back in the land of MSE! You sound very organised which is good! Did you manage to get the rest of your holiday bits and pieces?
Glad to hear you have the girls sorted with winter clothes. I'm not quite there yet, but getting there.
When is it your off on your hols? Maybe you're away just now - we always seem to be offline here consecutively
Hope things are good with you, and will hopefully chat with you soon.

Good morning all,
Hi Mrs S and Crunchy, lovely to 'see' you both
I'm on holiday this week!!!!! We travel up to Dover on Friday morning, I have my meeting with work in the afternoon and then off to the travelodge for the night before a 6am crossing!
Money wise I am waiting to see exactly what I have left in my account on Friday and then after my meeting we will go and get our currency!
I'm so excited and can't wait for 2 weeks off work!!!!!
Today I need to get dd2 a rash vest and pick up my order of swimsuits. i have ordered about 10 that are all around the £10 mark in the sale.
I'm at work now but will come back on later with a question I have for you MSE folks as I would value some advice.
