Me too, and if I've been away I tell my bed I've missed it.What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Thanks to my lovely bed and the weather settling a tiny bit, I managed a decent night's sleep. Have already made and emailed thru a few work related decisions that my brain was too fogged to grapple with until now. Yesterday, I got confirmation of my £50 cashback to be paid in 28 days and also requested another £16 from tcb. Also, am working close to home this morning so will be able to break up the dog's day by taking her for a quick walk at lunch time and have left overs from last night's dinner that will be my lunch. Feel like I've gotten past that bump in the road and that things are starting to move again. Also need to chase up a cheque for £460 that oh has pledged to the mortgage. Bad news is that the gas bill budgeted at £350 came in at £380 but I think that could be because we normally holiday in November but went earlier this year. Anyhow, it's doable as we've not been doing big grocery shops this month just getting by on freezer and top ups. Today I am grateful for

Hello!! So glad you got a decent night
The day after I posted on here about my mattress... mum rang me. My Pop (mums dad) is not allowed out of the hospital until a hospital bed is installed in his room at home, and they need to throw out his bed... with the brand new, never been sat on let alone slept on, king size orthopaedic support mattress that set him back nearly £500. He wants me to have it.... for free.. for my bad back!! :j
Hope you are enjoying the crazy cold weather... xx

Ever have a few days where you don't know how things are and where you just feel unsettled. My staff member left on Wednesday and has apparently completed a leavers form that necessitates me having a formal meeting with the staff partner. I'm fed up with credence being given to a piece of paper that won't be shared with me from a person who for six months didn't raise any issues. Was so annoyed I took the day off that I missed on Wednesday on Friday. It means more pressure when I go back on Monday seems so childish right now. Today I did a small shop and used my £5 off a £25 spend. Ended up spending £30 post voucher as I got whoopsied sausages, braising steak, combi deals and veggie offers including cabbage and a net of onions on offer for 29p each.
Finally braved the lion's den and called with my mother. She was scathing as ever, accused me of keeping stuff from her but wouldn't give me a clue what she was talking about. Got my first ever annual isa statement in showing interest at 2.75%. Can't remember the last time I had a proper savings account with money that wasn't being saved for anything.
My lovely bookcase was delivered yesterday. I've started to populate it and it's already making other areas look so much better.
Today I am grateful for
My OH
My son calling yesterday to tell me of a promotion
No interruption to power or water supply
Being able to squirrel some money away through frugal living

Good grief!
I have no insight, no clever answers INOD - but I fervently hope that the meeting with the partner is an R S covering exercise and nothing more - a bit like a back to work interview when you've been off sick (legitimately), but were only away for a day or two - you know the - 'box ticking' carp........
Glad you've been able to take time out and achieve so much..... despite *everything*.
