Hey INOD - just catching up. Really loving the positivity and getting back into focus. I'm going to adopt you as MY role model too :)
Can't promise the 1lb per week weight loss myself, but in reality if I want my surgery, I'd better lose the 2 further stone I put on when they told me I needed to lose 2 stone (oops...)
    Hope you're having a nice Sunday x

  • Hey SS, I wouldn't get rid of stuff unless I really didn't like or want it. I've spoken to OH and I'm gonna open the regular isa saving pot with £50 a month. He was great about it. Because I'm still (10 years later) having financial issues with my ex, I didn't want oh to think that I had trust issues which really wasn't the case. That hadn't entered his head which was great.

Hi gib, thanks for dropping by. I had a lovely Sunday. We didn't do very much but just spent time with each other so can both declare NSD. Got a bookcase on the landing sorted and identified one book for re homing with another to follow when I've had another read. Anyhow, a tiny bit more work needed there so off to do that then bed. Tonight I am grateful for

  • While neither of us had a great night last night. Think it was a consequence of a lazy day. If so, it was well worth it. Anyhow, am meeting a friend for lunch so likely to be a spendy day. Also have a fairly full in tray to face with 2 days in dublin this week and a day and a half booked for the nightmare job. Best get up and at em.

Great news on the ISA pot and OH and your Sunday - love a lazier day, life just rockets past all too often.

Hope you had a lovely lunch and it wasn't too spendy.

I admire your resilience with work, the mortgage - very focussed and pushing forward all the time. :)

  • Thanks Ali. Well lunch didn't happen as friend ended up stuck in a meeting 20 miles away. Instead I went for a 25 min walk so some good came from it. Home from dublin now. At least I filled up on diesel while there saving about 17p a litre. Am back on fri but have a lift there and will get the train back. Anyhow, gonna grab a cuppa and have a nosey round some diaries.

  • So, one of the dreaded days has arrived. Am starting the interviews in a hr investigation for a client. I will never understand how people do such silly things to end up here. Though I suppose others would say the same about people who get themselves into debt! Still, by lunchtime there will be one interview out of the way and four to go tomorrow. Knowing how much is at stake with these processes, I always feel as nervous as those being interviewed. Fingers crossed it doesn't show.

I've just finished reading through your diary In Need of Direction, mainly because I'm nosey.

My one big aim for when I become debt free is to start hitting the mortgage. I'm really lucky that it's not a massive mortgage and it could be sorted relatively quickly.

I'm going to keep reading for inspiration if that's ok.

  • so, where to start? it's been a week and a half though it has ended on a high note.

Work - halted the investigation part way through as I need additional information that has yet to be made available. downside is that I will have to come back to it. Upside is that i've now engaged with all people concerned and I think being honest with them about the issues and calling a halt has helped build up some trust so that's a big plus with work of this nature.

Family - son came home for a few days to help celebrate a family thing with his father's family. meant he was also here for his birthday and caught up with some friends and had his meal with us. we don't go out for it as it's the night of the bonfires here when things can flare up. quite MSE apart from him specifying the steaks he'd like from his preferred butcher! really! his OH is a vegetarian so he relishes the opportunity for good meat. as always, felt down when i dropped him to airport esp since dd is currently away. not quite an empty nest syndrome but...

Money - issue with ex finally got sorted. looks like he either withdrew a challenge or it was decided in my favour. I shouldn't gloat but the decision couldn't have been timed any better to maximise irritation for him. Accordingly, I will have a bit of a tax bill to pay but am about £3k up. so, today I overpaid my mortgage by £11.24 (green redeem voucher & TT) and £2000.00:T
That leave me £122 to pay to reach 7% since january. I have £8 of change to be banked so should definitely hit the £22 part before next month's payment goes. The 2.75% ISA I have yet to open can be opened with up to £1250 so that's where the balance is going. Need to get that done next week. couldn't earlier due to dublin trips, etc.
Other MSE news, have claimed a further 2 green redeem M&S vouchers and signed three people up. Have kept up with toluna surveys, nectar surveys and adpoints.

    Most importantly however :j:j:j
I lost another 1lb this week. again can only be due to the reduced sugar and have reduced the sweeteners in my tea from 2 to 1 as it was tasting too sweet. who ever would have thought that;)

anyhow, like I posted on the 2014 goals, i don't think I could have moved forward from my lightbulb moment without the belief and support of all of you so a really big thank you. I've been where I can't see beyond the money worries and know how bad it can be. for you all to take time out to help me stop neglecting health related ones is so amazing. I wish I could say more than thank you to you and my partner in crime (my OH)
