I'll be cheering you on: you'll amaze yourselfWhat would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

I'm so sorry to hear of the news of your results, but you are tackling it in the right way - treating your health journey like you have tackled your money issues is the way forward and so positive. Look how well you have done moneywise with the mortgage so far!
Have you thought of the 5:2 diet? I did very well with it last year till the run up the Christmas then it fell by the wayside! I went back on it when I started the LBM money journey and have lost 7lbs and this is with eating normally on other days. On the two fasting 500 calorie days I always carry these out on work days as I can zoom through busy days at work without thinking too much about food - I take a hard boiled egg to work for breakfast, apple for lunch then I can have the rest of the calories for soup in the evening - I find that some of Girl Called Jack soup recipes are ideal or you can buy the supermarket tubs - the minestrone types are low in calories, chunky and you can have the whole tub to yourself! Of course if you are being careful on the other non-fasting days you will see a bigger weight loss and better health benefits. I'm doing partly for vanity and partly because I'm hoping it will help in getting my blood pressure down. It might be worth taking a look at the diet's website online.
You've got lots of people cheering you on here on the board so keep positive and go for it!Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Thank you all. I don't think a diet per se is the way for me. I think it's just gonna be a case of try to cut out sugary snacks, eat less and move more. Today I did at least two hour's physical activity in the garden, albeit in two sessions. With help from OH it means that not only was I active but we got all the hedges at the front of the house tidied and the grass at the front cut. He did the cutting, I did the clearing. Two brown bins filled plus a small bit of weeding and two plants planted. I also sawed a branch off a tree. It's been set aside for the fire pit. Had a NSD today which is always good. Not sure what exercise there will be tomorrow as I have my gait analysis at five and then the theatre courtesy of free tickets from a client. Even a ten min walk at lunchtime should be factored in. Thanks again for all the support and encouragement. I'm sorry the news wasn't good
But you also sound like you have a plan. I really like the idea of learning from your good money habits. YOu need exercise/food equivalents of PAD, Tilly Tidies etc.;) I'm lucky and weight loss is not a concern of mine, but I know when I'm trying to get the horse fit, it's easy to say that I don't have time for the full hour of X that would be ideal. Instead I have to persuade myself that if 10 minutes is all I can squeeze in, then it's better than doing nothing at all.
Could you set mini targets? This week, I'll only eat chocolate once; or I'll do at least 10 minutes walking every day?
Best of luck. You know you have lots of support here, and it's just finding the motivation and tools that work best for you. :T0% card was £1126.91 / Now £1502.37

Hi INOD. I am convinced I am addicted to sugar and decided to try and cut it out of my diet altogether as I can't control it when I allow it in. I have had no chocolate bars, sweets, cakes or biscuits now for 3 weeks and although I have struggled I am getting there. I have however just ate a fab ice lolly and a packet of monster munch
The reason I decided to cut it out completely ( or almost) was that when I was addicted to cigarettes I cut them out completely and I succeeded. I was then addicted to fizzy juice and have cut that out completely as well. So I reckon I can only be successful when I remove things completely. Once I feel I have cracked the sugar thing then I will ditch the crisps. That'll be a killer mind you. Good luck with your journey xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -
MIT, there's sugar in crisps!
INOD I love the idea of Tilly Trotting or Physical Activity-a Day (PAD). Even a few minutes before work, during lunch-time, or on the way to the theatre add up. Maybe park further away from work than normal. Pedometers can be very motivating, too. Is it possible to include a walk when you have 1-2-1's with your team? If not, then book the meeting room furthest away from your normal work area, and walk there as quickly as you can.
Great to get all that gardening done yesterday, and seeing the improvements to the garden will spur you on to do more. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
You certainly sounded like you burnt some calories in the garden! Well done!:T
Hope the gait analysis went well and you enjoyed your evening at the theatre tonight. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Well, stayed pretty much on track yesterday. Even resisted the lure of theatre ice cream. Did a 20 min dodgey knee boogie at the end of the show which left me totally knackered but LBM, I love to dance so I know need to find a class. My knee is sore whatever I do so I may as well do something I enjoy. Courtesy of the gait analysis, I'm £450 poorer but can claim back £250 of that. Hopefully it'll start to make a difference. Anyhow, gotta run. Will be back later to update sig etc. thanks again you lot. Having people who believe in me makes such a difference.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes.
