  • Yesterday went quite well and today my first stop is to meet a lovely client who is unfortunately for me moving to a new job. Ate out of the fridge and freezer last night which is always good. Did however manage to leave my mobile at home yesterday. Wonder if that's why the day went well!

Anyhow, need to get moving. First meeting is at 8.30 followed by a project completion report. Things are finally leaving my desk.

  • Well yesterday was an unexpected type of a day. Went to b00ts at lunchtime, made use of vouchers etc but still racked up a £42 bill. Also got an invite to the first of the Christmas promotional evenings. Went back to the office and encountered what can only be described as a !!!! storm. Cue lots of tears from me mainly caused by sheer bloody frustration but went on for about an hour. So embarrassing. If it hadn't been for a 10.30 email last night from my senior partner, I wasn't going back. Even yet, I'm in two minds about it. Today is supposed to be my day off but I will log on remotely to get a report issued as a client needs it for the release of £200k and they are a charity. Apart from that, dd and I are making use of a birthday present from DS and are having 2 hours at a thermal spa followed by afternoon tea. Only thing is we aren't quite sure what's involved in the thermal spa!

Today I am grateful for the concern of colleagues

Oh INOD, how awful for you. May I suggest you take TOIL for the rest of the week, and let the senior partner carry the load whilst you recover. That can't have been good for your blood pressure.

It appears to me that you haven't had a full day off this year.

Hugs for you. Enjoy your thermal spa and tea with DD.

    How is DS now?
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

    Hi INOD

I agree with Satchmo take the rest of the week of to get your head cleared and recover. Work situations can be such a nightmare and as we spend so much of our time at work I don't understand why colleagues/staff make it difficult.

Where is the thermal spa?? Thinking of Xmas ideas
  • Oh, INOD, I sympathise, I had a similar situation the other week!

I'm with everyone else - take some time out if you can to let things settle so you can make a decision on your next step(s) with a clear head. Sounds like something needs to change though, there's no point hanging around constant stress - do put yourself first and look after yourself. PS. When I'm in a situation like this I also think 'oh, another job would be much the same' but both my OH and mum switched jobs recently due to hideous workplaces and they're doing wonderfully and wish they'd taken the plunge earlier (I need to take some of my own advice I think, lol!)

    Thinking of you xx

PPS. I don't know if this is up your street, but get hold of a copy of The Secret (book is great, the film is also on Netflix), it completely altered my thinking (and I really needed it, I was in a sad place too and can understand the sort of things you're experiencing/have mentioned), I think a good dose of focusing on what's best for you and what you want will do wonders xx

    Oh and enjoy the spa!

  • Hey up Lovely. Hope you did take the rest of the week off!

I have had to complain about someone at work and it is bloody awful. I am loathing work at the moment.

I hope you enjoyed the spa too and now are enjoying your Friday :)

Please write back and let us know you are ok XXX

  • Thanks to you all for comments and support. I'm ok. Didn't manage the rest of the week off as I was organising the coffee morning on Friday so couldn't duck out. The generosity and help from colleagues on Friday was great to see. That's more the kind of thing I need to focus on. I've requested a meeting with two senior partners on Wednesday and will present a discussion paper outlining matters I feel need to be addressed. I reckon it's the most dispassionate way of dealing with things. Their reactions will inform what I do next.

Onto more pleasant subjects, the thermal spa was good but beyond overpriced. Essentially it was a series of spa pools and sauna type rooms for two hours. Cost per person inc a nice afternoon tea ranges from 75 to 95. We had vouchers to cover the cost but I wouldn't pay the prices.

Today dear niece and partner came round to help recover the garden from the wilderness it is. They are both so lovely. Yesterday I used another £5 off voucher so need to make the mortgage op. Apart from that, I have spent most of the weekend asleep. For a change, I just did as my body wanted and slept. I feel so much better for it

Going to catch up on diaries now.

  • Just waving in solidarity. Should be in bed obviously but sitting here worrying about how to cover to back.......so much fun!

Sending you many positive vibes XXXX
