:( It really sounds like work is taking its toll. You're right to give them an ultimatum about sorting out the pressure. If they don't care then you'll at least know you tried.

Time to put yourself first, your health is so much more important than a job. It's hard to see that when you're used to being somewhere but jobs are much more easy to come by than most people think. And also it'll take less time to get a new one than needing a year or so off due to burnout!

Hope things get easier soon x

  • Thanks you lot. Thought I'd posted here yesterday but clearly not. I'm hoping to tread water work wise until my head is in a better place. Spoke to my boss yesterday and he was so supportive of me leaving the workplace when I did. It helped. Am currently avoiding my mother due to the need for self preservation, am getting my Wednesday off tomorrow and my boss is doing an early meeting on Thursday to save me the trouble so I am taking care and he is helping somewhat.
Today was working in dublin so a long day but it's over and an assignment is moving forward. Unfortunately, the spending continued. I need to rein it in but I bought some needed flat shoes and a birthday present plus some Christmas gifts for DS who is a nightmare to buy for.

Good to see your boss supporting you and hope they keep that up.

Shame you're so far away, I need a handbag personal shopper as zip has broken on mine and I am the world's worst at replacing bags!

    Sending supportive hugs :)

  • Back to the office today. Lots to do and having dipped into my emails yesterday, some things have been added to it. Yesterday I managed to get various bits and pieces done such as prescriptions picked up and filled, a top up shop where less than £10 was spent that included 3 whoopsied items, a 60 mile round trip that was worthwhile as we have persuaded an amazing pork butcher to make our Christmas cocktail sausages. He used to do these and we all got hooked but discontinued two years ago and Christmas dinner just isn't the same. Dd and I also got an amazing lunch prepared by home and his wife in their vintage tearooms. It was so lovely to chat with them in homey surroundings while drinking copious pots of tea. Am I the only one now on a countdown to Christmas in terms of the traffic getting back to normal?
Anyhow, need to get going. Hopefully with a head of steam to clear my in tray.

I think a repair would cost more than the bag did originally to be fair. It's old and battered and doesn't match anything but was practical in size and shape. I've got my previous one in the cupboard somewhere, more a winter colour too so will get that back out :)

Sounds like some good wins yesterday and a lovely time with it. Good stuff.

Definitely traffic gone mad here - traffic jams and queues at 7.30pm - late night opening of shops doesn't start for another 2 weeks here. Can't work out where it has come from or is going to! Christmas Day will be quieter on the roads, but between that and New Year it'll be dire with a retail park nearby :(
