There is no need to install any BT software if you are using the Ethernet cable. The software is simply USB drivers and browser customisation which is not required.

try typing this into address bar to see if the Bt test page will appear.....

    http://www.bt.net/digitaldemo

    if not, try this one:

    http://193.113.211.125/digitaldemo

Tried both addresses but as usual reply came back " Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".

Still stuck in the loop it appears as diagnosis of connection problem comes back as cannot be repaired automatically contact isp.

    Checking the IP address

One of the reasons why you would be unable to access this pages is due to you having an incorrect IP address. If you dont know what an IP address is then click here for more information.
There are a number of things that would cause you to get the incorrrect IP address, for example, a firewall maybe blocking the attempts of the Voyager Router to give out an address. The Wireless connection maybe a poor or incorrectly configured connection. Also things like the Voyager Router itself may have locked up or there maybe a Windows problem.
To start with you need to find out what your IP address is, follow this guide to do so.
    1. Windows 98SE/ME - Select Start, Run and type in WINIPCFG and select OK. Choose your adapter from the drop down menu (Should be listed as Voyager 1010 or 1020 etc). The IP address should be in the range of 192.168.1.x (Where x is a between 2 and 255).
    2. Windows 2000/XP - Start, Run and type in CMD and select OK. This will display a black MS-DOS window, within this box type in IPCONFIG and return. The IP address should be in the range of 192.168.1.x (Where x is a between 2 and 255).
    3. If the IP is correct but you are unable to access webpages please try turning off any firewall and internet security programs then click here to perform a reset of the router.

Check for data transfer over the connection
    1. A good way to test if your voyager is sending data to your PC is to try access the Voyager Control Panel. This can be done by opening Internet Explorer and typing http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar. If you cant get this page click here.
    2. If this pages comes up we need to check if its connected to the net or not. It will give you 3 possible states which are listed here.

"Your BT Voyager is ready to connect to the net".

"Your BT Voyager is not ready to connect to the net"
"Your BT Voyager is connected to the net"
