Another bought coffee today - but only $2.
Did a small grocery shop this afternoon - at a smaller sm but it was on the way home from work and I didn't think I'd actually go out again later on
Bought some potatoes, lettuce, cottage cheese (unusual for me - hopefully I'll use it up!), some longlife milk, GF bread, some beans and a leek. Oh, and a mango :j
I'm having some minor surgery tomorrow so wanted to make sure I had enough food to cover dinner tonight plus any meals tomorrow (Mum and sis coming to look after me so will be feeding them too!). I already have things in the freezer that I can have for lunches later in the week.
Still only up to $50 with just over two weeks to go - so hopefully I should be able to put a lot extra into my savings for this month! Handy, as the surgery will be eating up the emergency fund rather more than I would like :shocked: At least I'll get some of it back from my health fundMarch 2020 grocery challenge $921.76/$500AU

May 2020 GC $724.11/$750

Add prawns and fry for a few minutes
For 2 people I use 200g of risotto or short grain rice add this and stir for a few minutes, a good glug of white wine and a splash of milk and then ladle in stock and stir every few minute so that the starch comes out and makes it creamy, then add peas to cook for the last 3 minutes. When almost ready add grated parmesan, salt and paper to taste
Yummy...... (if you have any rocket that can be added too at the end to wilt through the risotto.

NSD for me yesterday but OH spent money on food on his break at work, as he was working til late. He hasn't got a receipt but thinks it was around £5 for his coffee and panini, which sends us even more over budget. I've got a feeling he's buying more coffees and food when on his work breaks and not telling me but I can't do anything about it unfortunately.
We had warm tortillas for lunch filled with chicken, chorizo and veg. On my own for dinner tonight so I've taken a spag bol out of the freezer to defrost. Made OH sandwiches for his break tonight so hopefully he will eat them and not buy more food.Thank you to everyone who posts on here0 -

NSD yesterday and a small spend today
Morrys have 1/2 price crunchy nut cornflakes £1.57 for big box
Coffee £2 for millicano
Frij choc milk only 45p
4pints milk 97p
risotto rice (that's what I went in for!) £1.10
Split peas 64p (to use up LO cooked ham and make pea and ham soup)
tomorrow and Thurs will be NSD as going to Germany with work and there is everything in fridge/cupboards for hubby to make breakfasts/lunches and dinner (fajitas)
Budget OK - hubby bought a case of wine - but I have decided this isn't going to be part of grocery budget, he buys a case maybe every couple of months or dependant on how fast we deplete it!!

£62.55 spends which incl some Easter chocs for my girls and a lot of family sized Quorn offers. Freezer is full. Have plenty of everything in ( famous last words). Might just need milk before Fri and definitely sandwich bags, tie handle swing bin liners, tuna and spreadable butter; which I am hoping to get tomorrow from L*dl.
Think I may set a lower target now for February and start as I meant to when I first joined this thread. Need to keep big spends to a minimum this month as I may be moving; albeit a few streets away, it is just more to carry!! Will reassess once I know what's what.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £89.90/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month.
