  • Hi all
I've been reading through the last few posts as I've not been on for a while.
I have spent the last of my birthday money now. In the end I got some new jeans, socks, and from some charity shops I got a new jumper, leggings (both with the tags on still!), 2 tops and a skirt so I really made that money last and am quite pleased :j

My other half has had a rare wardrobe sort through and wants to go shopping in a big town nearby so that will be a big test for me as I not been near anywhere where there are loads of shops for ages and I only have £15 left now. I have also lost some hours at work so my pay has reduced and need to be a bit more careful.:(

Lets hope I can make it till Christmas:)

  • I'm kind of late to the party, but can I join in? I don't actually need anything as far as I know except for a coat, so I think a budget of £20 for me until the end of the year is enough!!

October was a NO SPEND month for me :j:j

That's 7 No Spends months out of 10 - wow, I'd never have thought it possible. The challenge has really concentrated what used to be an expensive hobby!

Well done everyone on getting through another month. Looking forward to seeing more updates on how others have done too. :)

Yes Ali-ok, I agree this challenge has helped to focus my mind too. I would never have had so many no spend months without this challenge. I found it very difficult in the early months but it has got easier.
As I said previously, I know that I will be having a spend this month but the money has already been saved. Along with the boots. I would like to get a new winter skirt and top for work and a new thicker cardigan to go with it. That will be my lot for the year.
Hope everyone else has had a good month.

Found a new winter skirt and got two tops to go with it. £110 spent. Didn't go near White Stuff - would have been too tempted.

Just realised that I hadn't reported in for October.

One thing bought, a hat, much needed, to keep my ears warm this winter (I have a medical condition relating to my ears)

    So that was £14.40 spent

Running total £80.44 for the year, target was £300

I've never kept a running total on clothes expenditure before, and I've certainly spent less this year

Spent £4.50 in cs on two full length skirts to wear after my hip replacement operation. So I have £63.02 left to spend either by next Wednesday or in the January sales (Operation is Thursday 13th and will be on crutches for at least six weeks which takes me to Christmas Day, no lifting, no bending for at least three months.

I spent £12 in October on a lovely house-jacket, it's a cross between a bed jacket and a house coat. It will be nicer than wearing a fleece indoors when I get a bit chilly. It wasn't a planned spend as such, but something that I realised would be so useful for the winter.
Good luck for your op Mothernerd. I will need my hip replaced sometime soon, so I shall watch your progress with interest.
