The Completely Crazy 2014 Clothes Challenge

Hmmmmmm..........I am not so sure I am having a good first month on this challenge! I have just bought a gorgeous linen shirt dress on ebay for £6.50 plus £3.50 postage which will be ideal for my holidays later in the year. Will update my total accordingly.
I paid on paypal with money I have made getting rid of other bits and pieces (including clothing) so on one hand I have not "spent" additional money from my bank but on the other hand it is still less money in my paypal had I not bought clothes!! Given that, I have decided to add it to my total.
I am going to have to give some thought to how I am going to budget and keep track of spending. I have lots of winter clothing but my summer stuff is very much all over the place and will need some jiggling about, culling and replenishing. I may have to divide my budget into seperate areas. One part "real live money" spent and one part "paypal money spent originally earnt by selling old clothes" which I suppose is kind of cost neutral spending (although I acknowlege it is still spending!).
So, this month I have bought 1 x jumper in the sale (£16 ordered pre Christmas), £2.75 on work pants from the charity shop and £19ish (incl postage) on a top and dress bought on ebay from paypal profits.
On one hand that is a lot, but on the other it is way better than my previous behaviour and I have much more to show for it! I will continue to keep trying to improve!!!!
Another vote for DM's - treated myself to some brown boots in September. I have had to wear them in as I found them a bit uncomforatable at the top part of my heel when new (thick socks helped) but they are soooooo comfortable now and will last years. Love them.0 -
£44 spend to declare this week (sigh)
£25 on jeans to replace the jeggings I split
£6 on 2 pairs of leggings (would you believe I split a pair I was wearing in the changing room when trying on the jeans as I fell over when putting them back on and put my thumb through them! OH thought it was hilarious- went into primarni and got some more)
£7 on 2 statement necklaces
£6 on a small red satchel bag that's so adorable !
It's annoying that I've pretty much spent my budget as far as April now however most of these were to replace things I'm getting rid of, sort of one out one in. I put SO much stuff back and could have spent a lot more than I did so I'm pleased I showed some restraint and also very pleased with all my items!
Put a few old things on ebay so hoping to make a bit of dosh back!Frugal Student!!!0 -

Whoops! That is quite funny, what are the primarni leggings like? I've got some cotton ones from new look which replaced a pair I had from there which I wore out. Annoyingly, the new ones tend to bag at the knees.
Wore my teal shoes out last night, were more comfortable than I'd anticipated, and looked good....until some eejit knocked a whole glass of red wine over me and said shoes. thank goodness they weren't expensive, and that I had sprayed them with shoe protector beforehand. Cleaned them earlier and think they will live to see another day.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Previous pairs I've had from primark have been ok for the price but a bit thin but I spotted these new ones they are doing with a longer length, which feel a bit thickernot worn the new ones yet so can't judge.
Have had some great leggings from topshop, and also from asda although the asda ones are a bit more of an elasticated feel but very thick and have served me well through winterFrugal Student!!!0 -
Hi everyone - thought for a moment there I was going to have a spend free February. But succumbed at the midway point! Bought a lovely Navy Jumper from TK Maxx for £14.99. Tried on a shirt as well, but it was just a bit too small....

Still choosing outfits from the right hand side of my wardrobe after my re-organisation! Wore a patterned pair of leggings today which were a Xmas pressie - have been avoiding them as they look, er, slightly tight!! But went for it today and they seem OK now!
Maybe need to get down the gym a bit more often though...!!

Still clocking in for no spends on clothes, shoes, bags or makeup I think. Bought pants and socks which are more must haves and some trainers for jogging as mine actually fell apart a month ago and I've been holding out to buy a decent reduced pair. I view this as a necessity as my running is my only fitness. Does anyone else separate essentials to wants?19/12/14: Spent 10 years of savings!!

I think its up to the individual to decide what's included, as we all have different situations/requirements.
That's what I like about these sort of challenges, it's not written in stone - it can be adjusted to suit.
Well, more than half was through February and still no clothes spending this month. Tomorrow I will be testing my resolve - I'm going to have a saunter round the shops just to see what's out there. It's my birthday next month, so I want to get some ideas.Early retired - 18th December 2014

I'm not sure that I'd have anything in the want section if I did thatalthough I did separate out sports stuff when I did this challenge before. No excuse not to exercise then

I'm trying to resist temptation...
I need some new work clothes. I really do - my trousers have been repaired once and I dont think they'll make it through a second operation (not with my sewing anyway!) and my tops are starting to look a bit shabby and bobbly. Hmmm.
I had promised myself £30 to spend in Primani however dotty p's have 25% off this week.... free delivery today.... 8% cashback on £co.... Hmm
I've also looked on e3ay but postage costs mean i might as well buy in the shops - atleast i can return them if i need to.:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:
