  • If they are fairly new, the chances are they are still quiet pointy at the back of the heel, where they have come off the production line - push the seam inwards a little to "round" off the heel a bit - putting a little bit of chiropody felt ( its a self sticky pink fluffy felt found in chemists that you can cut to size) at the point may help inside the shoe for a bit until worn in too, but it will come away eventually

Thanks for the tip :D I've been wearing them with socks around the house and they've started to loosen but might have to get some of the felt stuff if I need to wear them out soon :)

Having a fab time this week wearing 'freedom' outfits. Those in red are what I haven't worn for ages.

    1) Long shirt with leggings, boots and huge statement necklace (looked great IMO :) )
    2) Navy T-shirt dress with necklace and scarf, leggings, cream cardigan, boots.
    3) High waist-ed jeans with black vest top and chunky cream cardigan and boots.

Trying to work out what to wear today for Freedom Friday :) Also had several compliments this week about my weight loss (I'm on slimming world) although I suspect this could be due to wearing more fitted clothes as I usually live in big jumpers and leggings :o

#59 Spent £8.97 on three dressmaking patterns in a charity shop. One skirt donated to charity as it was too good to wear for painting and was hanging off my hips (lost 6lb in last 4 weeks now 14st 1lb) and unsafe to wear in public.

Resisted a linen shift dress from the same charity shop. Saw it earlier in the week and thought it was pale blue (£6.99).Today I persuaded myself it was actually lilac and wouldn't suit me. Lots of lovely men's clothes.

Will probably need some more jogging trousers soon, then could use old ones for painting (have to do 3 bedrooms and bathroom and sand some floors). Looked and they are now £12 (were £10) so will look round charity shops and/or hang on until March or definitely need next size down.

Total £9-97/100(doing signature in a minute)

Have a look in primark or sainsburys when they have their 25% off TU, I have some good joggers from the former, and I've heard a few people say about the latter.

  • I thought I would have a pair of leather gloves to declare at £7.49 (half price in A!di). Men's, bought for DS who didn't want them, but happily DD, who, like me has very long fingers, did.
    Nothing to declare therefore.
Our Barnardo's rarely has anything in that can be worn, most clothes are in very, very poor condition, but I do donate good quality clothing to them whenever I have anything to go out.
As I have bought virtually nothing for some 18 months now, not much has been donated recently.
I have enjoyed finding different ways of putting clothes together, today I have a grey pair of smartish grey ex-work trousers (I now work from home) with a long-line camel coloured skinny-rib polo-necked jumper topped with a short sleeved summer tunic in sepia tones.
I love the fact that I can now wear this tunic all the year round, it's an M&S one that washes like a dishrag.

Feel like I'm totally failing at this challenge, spent £40 on kids clothes in the sale this week :/ have sold £10 worth of clothes though. Clearly I can't resist a bargain but I will try to redeem myself by saying that they were bits the kids needed x
DFW Total £21,800 to clear by Dec 2022
MFW Total £184,950 £179,066 to clear by 2035

I'm doing worse than you and that's just on myself ! Don't give up :) I'm still positive I can do it and I just think that even if didn't it would probably still be much less than normal years!

Don't regret anything I have bought though at all definately been great additions to the wardrobe. Need to last until my birthday (end of April) now with no cheeky additions to be fully back on track for the year :P

  • I have another spend to confess: 2 vest tops to wear under jumpers/cardies as finding longsleeve tops too hot at the moment- not sure whether its due to mild weather or hot flushes (eek!!),
    Crazy clothes challenge 140/180 :)
  • Hi all,
I have succumbed and bought a pair of jeans. my others were really bugging me by going baggy round the knees on the 2nd day of wearing them :o
so they will be used for dog walking/cleaning etc.

    I have made some money on ebay though by selling some old stuff;
The jeans cost £20. money made from ebay £43.
so I don't feel too bad but I really wanted to make it til the end of the month.
    must try harder in March:)

Sorted through the wardrobe this weekend. Anything that doesn't quite yet fit or is too summery for the current weather have been put away in a suitcase for a month. Anything that was too big or tatty has done in the charity bin.

Wardrobe is still looking full but at least it's tidier.
