Well, I had to pass an hour today in town so wandered into next. A couple of things caught my eye and I tried them on. The only thing I really liked was a jumper, but at £32 I thought:

    1. I don't actually need another jumper
    2. £32 for a jumper...........really? (this is a first for me!)

So I walked out of the shop having bought nothing. Pre challenge I would have wasted £32 on the jumper. Embracing the wake up call, so thanks to everyone who contributes to this thread. Motivates me to keep on the straight and narrow!

For those reporting rubbish charity shops, I have to say I really did think that about mine too. However, I have started to go in for a nosey a couple of times a week on a more regular basis and am getting better at having a good route around when I am in there. Sometimes there is nothing but at other times a little "gem" appears. It seems I am going to be using charity shops to get my "browsing and shopping" fix!!!

Took DH in our local hospice one yesterday as he was off work and I was good and bought nothing :A. He found an M&S autograph pin stripe modern suit that looked brand new for £7.95. Couldn't believe it!! Fits hime perfectly and as he wears suits daily for work perfect!! Popped it in the dry cleaners and he is over the moon with it.

Right......need to get kids from school!!

There goes a spend free February :o

Stayed away for a few nights and forgot loads of my clothes so had to buy some as didn't have enough to wear or able to wash them. Spend of £25.47 on 2 tops, 2 pairs of tights, and a skirt. Not too bad. I managed to put a few things back but I still keep looking at them on the internet as they are things that I really liked/would be good for work. I may yet purchase them :o

I've just got a dress on that I bought in December it's red, gets compliments and fits really well. So no Freedom Friday here today but a feel good choice.

Those socks/underwear/tights etc I emptied out of my main set of drawers at the start of January, not touched them at all! Need to go through it all now and work out what I should keep, what is good enough to put away and get out when the existing stuff wears out and what just needs to go. I'm hoping if I really know what I have it will further reduce the need to buy more things.

  • Have had a great week this week taking control and not having any spending in feb!

Unsubscribed to loads of clothes shop emails, deleted urban outfitters icon from my homepage on my browser so I'm not tempted!

My usual uni attire is leggings and jumpers but this week I've worn dresses and tights all week! :D

Not sure what I'm going to wear for freedom Friday yet (still in my pjs! :D hehe) possibly a tube skirt as I own about 4 and rarely wear them during the day even though they are jersey material and more than suitable for daytime.

i had Freedom Thursday and wore a bright blue tight thick jersey pencil skirt I have not worn before.

No one at work said a word about it so I don't know what I was worried about!

Today I wore a bright pink jumper I haven't worn for about a year - whoops! A bit big but ok for work

Isn't it funny fedup how we fret about wearing something different for work and most barely bat an eyelid. Makes me think I could prob roll up in my pjs and slippers and no one would notice.

Ahh, first clothes purchase of the year, enticed by a) finding a half price item that was perfect for a birthday present next month and b) if I spent £20 I got an 8p off litre fuel voucher.

So, £12 for me spent on 2 x half price spring/summer tops in Sburys - can dress both up or down so they will be great for work and smart/casual and base colour in classic navy.

If I'd had my brain in gear, I should have used Nectar points to pay for them too, but completely forgot. :o
