Took a fleece I'd bought for boot camp back today, slightly wondering if I've made a mistake, it was a trespass one, half price. But then I'm thinking if I wasn't sure I've prob done the right thing. I'll soon know if it turns cold!

Had 30 minutes to kill today and ended up wondering into our local hospice charity shop. Spent £2.75 on a pair of linen blend black trousers for work (M&S) that look brand new. I wear black trousers as part of my work uniform and they fit perfectly, so that will save me forking out 10 times that amount later in the year. :)

Also bought a Reiss denim skirt for my summer holidays but have concluded that it is a bit (ok.....a lot) on the short side for me. It cost me £3 and I am hoping I can break even by relisting it on ebay this weekend, so I have not included the cost in my budget.

Will try my very best to behave on the spending front and focus on decluttering my wardrobe. :A

  • Better late then never, please count me in for £50 - this is for all clothes, shoes, bags... And also scarfs, jewellery and makeup as I was horrified last year when I started recording all my outgoings. I'm not counting essentials like underwear :) managed to buy nothing this year which is a massive feat for me!

Anyone here conditioned lamb skin leather before? I've just been given a lovely jacket by a friend as she was going to chuck it, I've had to hand wash it and now want to treat it best I can. I realise the leather is quite fragile unlike other leather and am having a terrible time finding suitable conditioner. The one I seem to have found comes to £15!? With p&p.

Thank you for any tips :)

I have five charity shops in close proximity to the town centre and they are really expensive compared to what everyone seems to get on this board. They are trying to sell Primark clothes for more than they were new. No bargains to be had at all *sad panda* :(

On the plus side - no temptation to spend! ;)

  • Hi
happy to look at my bank statement for once, not full of clothes shops!

feel selfish to have wasted so much money in the past :(

now when the kids ask for the odd little treat I can say yes -that's a great feeling.

Why didn't I do this before?

Have to have a no spend month now x

Same here Fae, the charity shops in my local towns are all selling second hand supermarket brands for the same price as buying new in store.
