  • I'm going to say yesterday was a flexible syn day. I don't drink anymore, but party food and sugary cordials and tonic water were consumed in great quantity!

Back on it today - holiday week from group today so no weigh in until next Wednesday.

Brunch: sgetti hoops, poached egg, lean ham on 2 slices whole meal (HEXB)

Snack: 30 jelly belly jelly beans (6 syns I believe)

Dinner: beef casserole and boiled potatoes with carrots and broccoli

I started my SW journey in Oct 2012 so as you can see my rollercoaster ride has taken me a lot longer than some of you with similar and bigger losses.. But i'm in it for the long haul so am ok with that, health benefits so far have been I now have normal blood pressure, it was off the scale at my largest and I was on meds for this.. I no longer get aching knees or huff and puff walking a short distance.. So will get to target.... one day :D

As I said earlier I started at 16st 10lb, am 5' 6" - tops were 18 snug, 20/22 depending on where they were from.. jeans were 18 but have been 20 at my biggest..

now comfortable in 14 jeans, can get in 12 stretch but cant do them up!.. tops, again depending on style and where from 14/16 but do have 2 size 12 ones from next i'd wear with the label sticking out if I could ;)

I can now wear boots AND do up the zip, not hide them half undone under my jeans :p

want to get into 12 jeans properly and will be more than happy with that..

the line has been drawn now as mad with myself for losing my 3 1/2 stone so want to get that back then onto the 4

working today, temptation everywhere.. tins of chocs, biscuits, pringles, nuts etc etc.. have resisted so far.. made a HM soup to bring using 2 stew bags from Tesco reduced veg section.. had kidney beans and other bits in.. made a lovely soup with a few spuds thrown in too, got a soup maker in the sales cant wait to try it out.. hurry up and deliver it Asda!! :)

good luck for WI's this week.. mine tomorrow.. eek!

Oh, and welcome to all the new folk and those getting back on the wagon

Anything under 14st and I can get into my size 12's. I think I've said it before but I am extremely clever so have a very heavy brain :D

When I get down to 12st, my size 12's are really baggy, but having said that, I still had some 12's that I couldn't get up my legs :o

I should shop in aldi more often but tesco and asda are more convenient for me..

The fruit and veg are miles cheaper obviously, things I often get are frozen: fruit, fish, cooked chicken bits.. fresh chicken and fish is good value too.. tinned toms, passata, pasta, rice, cous cous.. I don't use it but get sweetener for daughter.. tinned kidney beans, chick peas etc

cottage cheese, FF yoghurt.. the harvest morn benefit 70 cal cereal bars are 2 for HEB.. think some of the crisp breads are a B choice too, not sure which off the top of my head.. mint hot choc sachets 2 syns each, very nice too..

sure there's loads more but mind has gone blank :D

I'm still not back on plan and will be dreading when I weigh in although I have to say I've enjoyed being a bit more relaxed about what I'm eating. I've probably had too many alcohol syns and cheese and crackers hardly feature high on the list of sw friendly foods but well little point worrying about it.

I'm intrigued to see that the hairy bikers have launched a diet themed membership plan although I won't be signing up since I already do sw - shame they don't offer a free trial so you can see what its all about.

I hope everyone a great evening last night. We spent it with friends so quite a relaxed new years for us which was very enjoyable.
  • Hello all:wave:

Thank you all so much for your kind words and encouragement, have decided to just draw a line under yesterday and move on.

Before sw I would have just thought, well b**g*r it , that's that I might as well give up now. So the fact that I can get right back on the wagon again today must be a step forward I think.:)

maman Your idea of starting with 105 syns at the beginning of the weighing week and working from there will suit me much better I think. I'm sure somedays I'm only using my syns because I think have to!:)

They have discharged my grandson from hospital this afternoon, so all is well there (until the next time) As I say he's in and out of hospital fairly regularly so I should be used to it buy now. It just doesn't seem fair when they're so young (he's only 2):(

Have decided that I need to keep super free snacks ready prepped in the fridge i.e. crudites, veg soup, fruit e.t.c. so that I can dive in when I need to. I think that was my mistake last night, it was way easier to cut a slice of cake than prep a load of fruit and veg:o

Frogga I'll commit to daily posting too, we can do this together:)

My stats are I'm 49, 5ft 4ins and I weigh 14st 10lbs! Before I gave up smoking (4 years ago today:T) I weighed about 9st 6lbs and could comfortably fit into a size 12, now I'm in a size 20. I have set my target weight at 10 stone and I'll see how I feel when i get there.

I am DETERMINED to be in a size 14 by my 50th birthday at the begining of September:D:

I am here every day but just reading mostly [at the moment]. Trying to get my head in gear but still too much carp hanging around. Bought leeks and potatoes today to make soup ready for work lunches. Just need a tasty recipe.

The weight/size thing has been mentioned before. At the very start of my sw journey I was knocking on the door of 13st and a size 18. Got to target [1st time] and was comfortable size 10. Gained 1.5st [meds] and was size 12. Have got to target and lowered to new target and am still a size 12 [probably an 11 as things fit on the leg but baggy round waist] but not a 10 so go figure. Have been able to wear snug fitting knee high boots though. Never could before as calfs too chunky.
So I am 47, 5'5 and size 12. I have been at target of 9st 12lb [usually below] for getting on 4 years. I don't know if Im bragging [please don't think that] or just saying look it CAN be done. Its not easy maintaining as Maman will agree but then this isnt a diet its a life change. I stay here as you guys keep me going otherwise I expect I would have given in and ate myself to balloon proportions especially with what has been going on in my life the last couple of years.
    Anyway a big-hug-smiley-face.gif to EVERYONE :A:A:A
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

May I join you all please? :-)

Today is Day 1 for me on Slimming World, although I am doing it all myself as I cannot afford the membership.

    So far I have had:

Breakfast- coffee with 2 sweeteners and whole milk (healthy A or B I always get these confused).
Banana butty of Hovis best of both which is nearly a healthy extra I think? So not sure how many syn's that also includes. Had it with Flora Light which I think is about 1 syn?

I skipped lunch because we got up late and had quite a late breakfast due to our lie in.

Tea- 2 salmon fillets, potatoes, carrots, sweetcorn, peas. With a glass of water.
I have crab sticks, prawns and fat free greek style yogurt for snacks (I add options mint choc powder to the yogurt for my chocolate fix which is a few syn's).

I am also going to start a workout DVD in the next few days.

I am planning on trying to stick to 5 syn's per day and saving 10 a day for the weekend so that if we eat out or have a few at the pubs I can still join in, but whilst staying within my syn's.

    Happy new year everyone x
