  • OOh so happy to see the new thread!!

Sorry apple don't know about the Special K porridge, would love to know as my hubby works at the factory that makes them!!
I have searched the net but not been able to find them and as I don't go to group couldn't find out. Have been sticking to weetabix for now. - So breakfast has been my only SW friendly meal for some weeks now but I have only put on 2lb which I am happy with as have been eating so much carp!!
I am going to get back to it today and my New years resolution is to do more 'body magic'.

Sorry to hear about your grandson Stitching Witch- sending a big hug x

Lovely to see Frogga, Mrs Ryan, Maman, Shala and all the newbies on here - HAPPY NEW YEAR!! - Trying to be more cheerful as actually had a rubbish new year's eve- my son who has Aspergers had a complete melt down playing logo (should have known better) so there were a lot of tears and tantrums last night (and that was just me!!- Only joking!!)

My stats are - I am 5'7'' and want to stay at my current 11 stone or lose a bit before my hols in May. When I originally joined SW a few years ago I was over 14 stone and my target was 10' 10 which I got to but looked a bit gaunt so happy with 11 stone.

Well I've fallen off the wagon folks:eek:
On top of everything else today my grandson was admitted to hospital this evening:(

I don't even know why, thats the really annoying thing. I mean me stuffing my face isn't going to make him better is it?

Can I go without syns for the next couple of days do you think to compensate for it?
I really want to show a loss at my 1st proper weigh in on Thurs

So sorry to hear about your grandson cw. I think the slight binge is understandable under the circs. It's a 'because I can' thing whereas you can't do anything about the lad. So sort of trying to be in control plus a bit of needed comforting. That's my theory anyhow. As MrsR and mildredd said, you can definitely claw back the syns. It's not something SW recommend but it can definitely work. I do it all the time, start from a bank of 105 syns on WI day and subtract from there using most of them at weekends. I think the reason it's frowned on is that you're risking feeling deprived and giving up if you've no syns left. So it does take some willpower.

Well I managed to get through New Year's Eve ok without blowing the plan. Does anyone have an idea of how many syns a portion of chicken tikka would be? Just the chicken without the sauce. Im thinking low or free as it is just cooked with the spices.

I think that's probably free. I often buy chicken tikka breast pieces to snack on and if you made them yourself with just lean chicken and spices they'll be fine.

Can someone please tell me? The Special K porridge red berry sachets, how many syns? I have a box in the cupboard and I don't think anyone else but me would eat them.
    Thanks in advance

    5 syns a pack.:(

ETA: they took a bit of finding online shelly. The site is so:mad: and so fussy about how you spell porage/porridge!

Remember to have your HEXs on your menu today. You can have 2 of each on Green but sadly the porage sachets don't count.

Sorry to hear you're a bit down mildredd but I'm sure you'll be far better able to deal with it all as a new slim you. You've made such great progress. Be proud of yourself!:A

Delighted to hear that you'll be posting regularly frogga. No hopping off allowed!:naughty:;)

I always find discussions of statistics fascinating. It shows how far we've come but also the huge range of weights that are in the healthy range. My 2p's worth: I'm almost 5ft 9 and I started at 13stone 9.5. My target weight is 10stone 7 but I'm generally closer to the bottom of the range. This makes me a slim size 12.:D Sorry but it still makes me so happy!!:j
  • Thanks Maman!! 5 syns!! For a little packet of porridge!!
I would rather use them on a kit kat!!

Well.....trying to get back on the wagon, I have reasonably good on the food front over the festive period, but it is the booze. I have drunk way too much vino and fizz and it is time to put a stop to it. I know there is an inspirational thread for this, but I would rather focus on this one. I have decided not to return to class and carry on myself with the help and support of you guys :).

Thanks FE for setting up this new 14 thread, I hope this year is a good one.

I got a popcorn maker which I love as I now have something else to snack on in the evenings when the urge takes me. Would recommend this as a good snacking option.:T.

I won't post menu today, but it will not be including wine...just want to wish you all a Happy New Year and good luck for the coming weeks x

Maman 5 syns! Well I will use them up and not buy anymore.

Arkers how r u going to syn the popcorn?

When I went to class we were told its 105 syns for the week, use them as you wish, we were told that the area manager always took her 2 bottles of wine off first :) and then she knew what she had left!!

Feeling full from my breakfast, but I did not get out of bed til 10.45am, going to go through my cupboards later and syn everything.

I was told by my class leader, that so long as you don't use butter or sugar, and if you just salt it then it is free :T. I have taken this as truth, does anyone else know.....

You know what I'd find helpful? If people could say what clothes size you where /are? As I have no idea what weight I'm actually aiming for? I think I want to be a 12/14 ?

    At 17st1lb I was a snug fit in a 22 :o I'm now 13st 10.5lb and wearing a 16 comfortably xxx

Thanks lovelies xxx nah ill be fine just being silly really :/ his loss and ill never know the truth for why he walked so I need to make my peace with that and be happy that I'm blessed with my dd xxx

Back on the wagon tomorrow :) x
I will be thin I will be thin

Popcorn maker - if cooked with no oil then surely its free? Oil would have to be synned? As would butter or sugar xxx

I miss cinema style popcorn :(
Need to work out syns and make some bags up of suitable syn amounts ;) xxx

I'm a syn optimiser? I like to get the most for my syns ;) eating roses at 2.5syns seems a waste of syns - could have a dime bar or 3 roses lol xxx
Started sw 02/09/13 - total loss so far -5st 1lb

Good idea with the clothes sizes Mildredd - its in my sig but when I started dieting I was a 24-26 on the bottom and a 22 on top (I've always been smaller on the top than the bottom)
When I started SW I was wearing size 20 jeans (that's what I go on, my trackie bottoms tend to be smaller but that's the way I wear them) and I was a 16-18 on the top. My first weigh in was 16st 10lb.
I'm now 15 st 1lb, I wear size 18 jeans (I can fit into a 16 in some shops but I'm a comfortable size 18 in proper jeans) and I am sadly still a 16-18 on top depending on the style of the top (I tend to wear an 18 in shirts but a 16 or sometimes even a 14 depending on which shop its from in other tops- however I wear quite a lot of men's casual tops and I wear an XL in those)
    Dresses I'm an 18
I would like to be an all over comfortable 14. :)
