  • Hello all:hello:

ruby-eskimo I think Autumn weddings are lovely, I'm sure you'll be wedding dress shopping ready in no time

brook_son I'm really looking forward to getting back to work as well. I've been off sick for most of December, but I'm fighting fit now and raring to go. It always feels good to get back to normal doesn't it?

Thank you all for your replies about the 1/3 rule, think I'm slowly getting my head round it. I'm doing it via a group and I have to fill in a food diary for the next 4 weeks. It's a bit like being given homework and I don't want to get lines if I get it wrong :rotfl:

I ordered a rebounder as a late christmas present to myself, hoping it will be as much fun as everyone claims. Anxiously awaiting the arrival of the delivery van as we speak.

Not planning on going out tonight, did my fair share of full on NYE's when I was younger and I'm now quite happy to stay in with my feet up.
If my trampoline arrives I could well be bouncing my way into 2014 :j

Will update todays food list later.

I have been looking at online membership costs. I really don't think I can justify spending so much so I get the books as I didn't find the support very good the last time I joined up.
My books are definitely not in the house. Joining a group to get the books isn't easy as I am about 20 miles from my nearest group and I don't drive :( Well not that sort of distance. Any ideas on how to find recent books for a reasonable price?

I've just bought some from Amazon for a tenner and they have quite good reviews. Apparently they measure body fat and water levels or something fancy like that as well. Not too bothered about those numbers, I just want the main one to keep going down!

Hi Shala, Hoppy New Year to you too matey  Even if you're doing the M&S diet I don't know why you couldn't still post on here? You're an old hat at SW so would know the answer to loads of questions. And you'd be missed greatly. And I never thanked you for keeping up to date so well with the chart :A Even if I never benefited from it :o

~I've bought the scales, I reckon they are like the ones you got from Amazon Ruby, and like you I don't want to know all the fancy stuff, just how fat I am :o

Right, am focused (at the moment!). I've re written my menu template ready for the morning, and am aiming for 11st as that gets me in the healthy weight range.

How would people feel about re posting, or posting for the first time, their stats? It always helps me?

So, I'm 40 , I'm 5ft 6in and I started off at 20st 1lb. Will weigh in tomorrow but I'll be about 14st 7lb I reckon. Having been 13st 5lb in November I'm still cheesed off with such a huge gain but ho hum, at least I'm not right back at 20st again I guess. I'm aiming for 11st. And God help me this time I will jolly well do it!

Lovely to see you shala I'm nosey too so please drop by frequently and tell us how the M&S diet is going and how it compares with SW.

frogga, you've lost an amazing amount and stopped the backsliding before it gets too serious. Go there girl!!:rotfl:

pooh, I think books are sometimes sold on ebay but don't know whether they're good value for money or not. Do you go to the nearest town for work? Perhaps there's an early evening group you could go to just the once?

    Hello All,

Well I went for my walk and was glad I did! The wonders of fresh air - so will be out again tomorrow :)

Planning a little film night on my own with a few drinks tonight. Still debating a dry January lol

Bought a new duvet last night and duvet covers in the sale so got that all on the bed - so will wake up in a lovely new bed on New Years Eve lol.

Is anyone setting a target for the end of January? Im going to set myself a target of 10 lbs but hopefully will get more off.

Frogga my stats are - I'm 33 years young lol, 5.4 and when I started SW in April I was 16.13 lbs - I'm now 12.4. I don't know what my target is yet but reckon I've got another 2 stone to go - to shift my gut that's where its all sitting !

Sitting here now watching secret eaters whilst having a MSE catchup lol.

Think I'll allow myself a few bags of crisps tonight if I feel the urge but to be honest don't think I'll go too wild as I think I have total cravings for healthy food only after the xmas excesses lol

To the newbies - I go to group and religiously stay - my group has gotten better but isn't that great but personally I need the discipline of going to a group in addition to being weighed outside of the house. I find the SW mag is great for inspiration and recipes and its not too dear. I don't use my book that often now as its all ingrained in my head - it doesn't take long to get in there lol.

Im actually looking forward to a New Year and feeling positive, its been a bad year through loss and family troubles and personally for me - things can only get better. Hope 2014 is a good one for you all !

Sorry for such a long post - just felt like a rant lol

Ah but I am still pregnant and fully intend to weigh myself just before my induction next week ;)

Before falling pregnant I was 11st 11lbs :o and I am now sitting at 13st 4lbs so not a huge increase in weight. Having done a bit of reading 6 weeks tends to be when docs recommend you start thinking about weight loss so although I will be eating healthily until then I will take my weight at 6 weeks and work from there.

Ideally I would like to be just under 9st which I was for a long time.
