  • I often join (rejoin) SW in January! This year I'm going to go it alone, and put the money in my sealed pot. Can anyone let me know what the class price is now? Thanks.

    Hi just found this thread.
I started Slimming World back in September was 2.5lbs off 2 stone before Christmas. Its been a mad time my Mum has been in hospital since 20th Dec (hoping she is out today) I have been picking here and there getting weighed tomorrow. I am dreading how much I have put on but also glad to get back on track - sort of looking forward to getting back to work.

I hope your mum is well enough to go home today. I felt bad about giving my real reason for weight gain over the last three months but reading your post has helped me.
My aunt has been ill since September aNd my SW diet went right out the window. Basically, I have just eaten whatever anyone has put in front of me or if I have cooked it has been something filling and quick to prepare. We also had very little spare cash for food so it was the cHeapest things we could afford. Mainly rubbish.

Yesterday I went to Mr A and filled my trolley with fruit and vegetables :D I am going to be better organised and pepare meals before we go out to the hospital, and today I am making huge pans of soup.

  • Can anyone tell me when last books came out? Think I have them some where or do I buy a Woman mag and get a new set?
I have done SW several times, consultant is ok but I got put off her when she told me I had to half 1/3 super free on a green day?! Never did this before extra easy came in and I lost and got to goal.
I am still in bed :) i do need to lose weight, but have a chronic illness and now find it impossible to exercise apart from a bit of swimming.
Last time I went to class and got down to goal I did tons of walking, and found I could not lose weight with diet alone. Any tips on how to lose with just diet?

Top girl - considering having a booze free January myself for a bit of a detox and to help the mind!

Would seriously save me some syns too!

Made a lovely soup last night so will be eating that today and debating whether or not to go for a walk as it is dry here today.

Going to get some body magic in here today cleaning the house - back to work on thurs :(

Not sure what my plans are for tonight - have been invited out to a friends but after all the caos of xmas I quite fancy just sitting here watching a wee film with a few gins on my own.

If I'm not back on again today, Happy New Year to all.

I'll commit to posting every day :o

I may even go and purchase some digital scales so I can stick to it and gauge my loss properly.

I didn't want to have to keep posting on a weight loss thread, because I wanted to have 'cracked it' by now. I wanted to be normal.

Frogga, I'll be posting forever - even when I get to target to make sure I stay there as we know its so easy to go off track.
Maman is an great example of how to maintain and she is always posting :)
  • Frogga - I feel exactly the same way. I would have thought I'd have cracked it by now but you know, life gets in the way sometimes. I am also going to buy some digital scales as my current one's aren't the most accurate I fear (despite me marking on the bathroom floor EXACTLY where they should be placed for a consistent weigh in).

I also think I might have added motivation as my DF has suggested we bite the bullet and get married in October 2014. I'm nowhere near ready weight wise to start wedding dress shopping so I had better get a move on!

After the meal out and drinks tonight though!

There's such great positivity on here at the moment, and tinged with a dose of reality. It feels great.:D

    :hello: to all new joiners/returners.

lantanna's right, I do still post regularly although I've been at target for almost 2.5 years. Denise and tie are much the same and there are others. I don't see it as a negative but more a way of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. AND, I still feel great about myself when I look at my slim shape in the mirror. Sorry if that sounds boastful but it's a feeling that never goes away. Contrast that with how disgusted I felt when I was fat and there's no contest!

rummer, I'm not sure about SW and pregnancy but I do know there are guidelines and it's a perfectly safe, healthy way to eat especially the calcium rich foods (not just milk). There is some online information too. I don't suppose it really matters when you choose to weigh. If a lot came off one week because of fluid retention rather than SW that's a bonus!:rotfl:Maybe nessie will lurk and can advise from first-hand experience.

applepad, I think the latest books are orange and haven't changed for a couple of years but I'm not 100% sure. When they came out there were some changes to quantities and syns but they weren't massive from the green books. Your consultant is wrong about the third SF on Green being essential but it is recommended if you can. I think that eating loads of veg is good for any 'diet' whether slimming or otherwise.

I've had a SW breakfast, probably soup for lunch. We're not going out tonight but I have a reasonably on-plan meal organised (steak and chips etc) but champagne is chilling.;) I'm out again on Thursday then hopefully Friday I can do my meal plan and shop and get back to normal.

Thanks maman, will have a look and see what books I have, like you say things can't have changed that much.
I have had a brunch of SW breakfast and we are having a takeaway later, but as I am booze free joy of being on so many prescription drugs! Sure I will be ok.
Weighed in this am at 11 st 3lbs 1/4 oz! Way off my 9 stone target!!, never been this heavy in my life, not even when 9 months pregnant! But I have lost as was knocking at 12 st a few months ago.

Going to order my veg box and go for a swim Thurs, recokon I can leave the teenagers for an hour, they are back to school next Tues.

Also going to dust off the Wii fit!
