My blood pressure was sky high, needed meds for it.. plus couldn't walk any distance without huffing and puffing and aching knees.. Main reason for me starting SW, also feeling crap about myself generally.. think we have all been there!

Had a good day but went out for tea, had choc fudge cake for dessert... oh well ;)

This was brunch, from the new mag.. Very tasty and syn free if using the bread and cheese as HE's
    Ham and mushroom toasties..

    Evening all,
Congratulations on the losses coming in.

Hugs to those who need them. Get back on that wagon MrsR, and sorry to hear you've had some bad news.

2b my inspiration for losing weight: There are several. The main one is that I feel uncomfortable, and I know it is beginning to have an affect on my body as my knees ache, and if I bend over, something (fat?) pushes on my ribs, and it hurts so I have to stand up. That's not right, so I need to sort it out. I'm not getting any younger, and have begun to find walking greater distances also hurt one of my knees. I spend a long time standing when I'm working, so it's being aggravated. Bottom line is I'm a small woman, carrying far too much weight.
Another reason is that I have a partner who is very trim, goes to the gym, eats healthily, looks after himself, and has the body of someone half his age. I know he loves me, and says he's attracted to me, but I just think he deserves to have someone who is also taking care of themselves.
My partner has mentioned he would like us to get married (although I've yet to have a proposal ;)) and I would like to be a slim bride, when that does happen. In the meantime, my eldest son is getting married in a couple of years or so's time (no date set) and I'd like to be a slim mother of the groom too, especially as those pictures from the day will last forever, and be handed down through generations.
To just feel normal, and to not have to bring all the clothes out of the changing room in M&S and give them to the assistant because everything looks hideous on me, like I did in November last year, would be unbelievable.
    Sorry for the essay :o

Agree with all the comments about food planning, it makes preparing food so much less stressful, and you're less likely to make mistakes with syns, etc.

    Food Plan Today : EE
B - porridge HExB, Milk HExA, + extra porridge 4.5 syns, sugar 2 syns
    snack - satsuma
L - Batchelors Deli Box Noodles 2 syns + extra egg noodles, mushrooms, spring onions, chicken
snack - Muller orange yogurt, apple
D - Turkey stew (leftover from Christmas out of freezer) incl. onions, celery, carrot, potato, swede

Feel a bit peckish this evening, but don't think I should need anything after what I've had today, and each meal was very filling. Trying to keep syns below 10 if I can, so that I have room for manoeuver at the weekends.

Have a good weekend everyone, I plan to sleep, because I'm shattered :D
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

Hi everyone. You are all doing so well. I'm an online SW member as I live in a rural area. I did quite well for about a year - at least I was happy to lose about a stone and a half in that time. I don't know what's changed but in the last 6 months I've put back a half stone. I don't want the good times to be wasted but I'm struggling to get back on track. My downfall is eating out with friends once or twice a week and entertaining family at least once a week. That's no different to what has always been, so I'm clearly not being careful enough. I'm going to get back to writing EVERYthing down as that seems to be quite motivating for me - I can see when I've been 'good' as well as when I have let things go.
I'm drawing a line in the sand but I won't be weighing in until Tuesday, so that'll be my starting point. I have about 5 stones to shed yet.
