Just caught up - congrats to those that have lost, I've marked you down on the spreadsheet, I hope :D

This is my first week doing SW, weighing this Thursday and I've been bloated and really crampy. If anything I feel heavier?!

Anyway, I've been weighing every morning - to have a sneaky peek (I know, I know), and the scales aren't going down. Whats going on? :(

I am dedicated to doing this long term, but it has to work for me! boohoo :(

    xx

DON'T HOP ON SCALES ANY MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK!
SW does work. I've lost 10st 5 times. It does work, if you stick to it! DO NOT get on the scales 2b because you'll give up if you see a gain or not a loss. Others will assure you, some DO gain in week one, I did the first time. But STICK to the plan. Keep the faith. It WILL WORK!

2a, could it be totm? I always get a little heavier then.

Alternatively, have you changed the type of things you eat? Sometimes the digestive system seems to need a little bit of time to get used to the changes. I found myself very windy (as others did) for the first couple of weeks on this diet. But itsp deems to be settling down now.

Completely agree - stepping on the scales more than once per week can cause depression when it appears that you haven't lost or have gained - they give false results if you weigh at any other time during the day or week due to water etc.- take out the batteries, get the OH to hide them - donate them to charity!

    STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALES!

I'm sure I read somewhere that a daily moving average is a more accurate way of guaging true weight loss than weighing weekly (which is still open to the water etc fluctuations that daily weighing is).

I have read that too. It works like this: You weigh every day and after a week you take an average (you add up the 7 weigh-ins and divide by 7) and then do it again for the following week etc. and then you can compare week to week.

I don't know if it's a good thing or not, I suppose it depends on the person, some people like weighing every day, others don't

my EE day yesterday didn't go so well. The pasta bake I made for tea didn't turn out very nice although the rest of the family liked it, I couldn't eat it and as a result I picked at the wrong food all evening

so doing red again today, it seems to keep the carb cravings under control.

    B: eggs and spinach
L: tuna with lots of salad, cucumber, tom, beetroot etc
    T: not sure yet.

    Have a good day :A

One of the best raffle prizes I got was all the ingredients for a tomato and red pepper soup (including the recipe) Its one of my favourite soups to make and had I not won the raffle that evening I would be none the wiser! A lot more interesting than a bowl of fruit in my opinion. HTH

We often have similar things - ingredients to make a particular recipe. We've got quite a big group and usually have 3 prizes; sometimes the same but usually similar types of things.

As well as various low syn/free food, such as crackers & philli; beans & loaf of bread; jacket potatoes & tin of tuna; we also sometimes have things like measuring jugs, measuring spoons, small chopping boards etc.

Haven't won anything for about 4 months - think I'm about due another win:rotfl:.

Really glad to be going shopping today - didn't think I'd ever say that, LOL!

    Having a Green day today:

B - porridge (HEB1) made with water & a little milk (part HEA); honey 2 syns, frozen raspberries
    L - egg mayo (0.5 syn) & salad sandwich (HEB2)
D - macaroni cheese (HEA2) from latest magazine

Rest of HEA 1 will be used in tea throughout the day.

    Snacks - fruit (don't know what yet, depends what I can get at the market today);

    Syns - honey 2; mayo 0.5; may also have a pink 'n' white 2.5

Hoping I can lose a bit before WI on Thursday am, after gaining a bit whilst on holiday.

    Denise
