Weigh in today 2lb loss for the challenge for Trow, week 1
It was higher midweek, but its coming up to TOTM, and I always get a little heavier then.
I tried a Davina workout this morning, that involved interval training - and I gave up as I knew I wouldn't be able to do the whole thing - it was very focussed on muscle toning, and I think I need to focus a bit more on cardio at this point in time. I didn't give up completely though, I chose a different (cardio) workout DVD and did that one instead. Will try and do a workout at home OR a long walk 3 times per week, plus a zumba class. I'm still waiting for my books to come, so don't have much clue about body magic yet. Hopefully I'll get them this week!
Todays menu (green day):
B - mullerlight and fruit
L - baked potato with cheese (hexa) and salad
D - Bean goulash and courgette dumplings 7 syns (for the flour in the dumplings) with roasted veg (to use up some of the 1 and 2p veg I bought the other day!)
Snacks - tinned pears (hexb) alpen lights (hexb)0 -

Does anyone have a underactive thyroid? Does this make any diffrence to weight loss
x
I have under active, it wasn't diagnosed until after I joined SW so not sure of its impact on weight loss although I'm sure it was one of the factors in me putting on weight in the first place xBecame Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

The half stone stickers keep me motivated but I am enjoying the personal sense of pride as I am starting to look a lot different and I am happier and more confident when in public with my dd? Xxx
Mildredd, that's a great NSV! Well done..
I've succumbed to Toffifee's todayanyone know how many syns? I only had two and that's just under 100 cals so 5 syns at most i'm guessing!
I should have the remainder of the day in the bag though
B - fruit - pineapple and melon
L - Chicken tikka salad, 1/2 jacket and cheese (0.5hea)
T - Chicken and pasta, 0.5 hea cheese, passata, veg
S - toffifee (5?) crisps (6)
Haven't had a HEb but don't know what to have and don't feel hungry at the minute so i won't force myself to eat just for the sake of it.
Some good losses already i see, i can't wait to weigh in on Wednesday.. always love the first week weigh in - if only every week could be as good :rotfl:Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Online it has 2 syns per toffifee, so you have another syn to play with0

Could I join in too please? I've had success with SW before but then it all went horribly wrong........ I'm 43, 5ft 4" and (whispers) 14 stones. I'd like to be about 9 and a half stones. I feel rubbish and unhealthy, but have been to the supermarket and stocked up and also did some batch cooking at the weekend. Today's food diary will be:
B: 2 slices wholemeal bread from a small loaf (HEB) and a banana
L: Ainsley Harriot Couscous (3 syns) with olives (1 syn), tomatoes, mushrooms, spring onion & Salad.Mushroom Stroganoff & Rice (1 syn)
Snacks - Muller light, apple, banana, Ainsley Harriot veg chowder soup (4.5 syns) 250 ml semi skimmed milk (HEA)
9.5 syns for the day. I'm having a "dry" January so that should help with the daily synsSave £12k in 2019 #111 £440.39/£4000

Hi all,
I'm thinking of joining SW this week but can't decide between online and group. I really don't do with the whole group thing and it makes me want to crawl into a corner so I guess online and support from here may be the way to go.
I used to be a svelte 8 -10 until I hurt my back and had to undergo. 2 lots of spinal surgery and I ballooned to a 14 between meds and being unable to exercise. I am still fairly immobile and on large amounts of pain meds so I need to do something to get rid of the extra weight.
I am 5 ft 5 inches and 11 st 10 lbs:eek: I do all of my cooking at home and don't often have a takeaway but my downfall is high fat foods. I adore my nightly panacotta, I cook a lot of Indian And Chinese foods. My whole family is riddled with diabetes so I early have to get this weight gain under control now before I develop it and being in my mid 50s it is in the post unless I do something
Do people find that online membership works for them or do I have to bite the bullet and head for a local group.0 -

That looks like a Green day to me as it is all veg & carbs - if you do it as a Green day you could have another HEA and HEB if you wanted to.
Mudgekin - I've only ever gone to Group not tried online but I find group works for me as when I started I was recovering from severe depression and really needed to get out of the house, but I've now got a great bunch of friends and really look forward to going to group.
I really don't think I would have got to target doing online as it was the company I needed as much as SW, IYKWIM.
Not much help to you really but I would only consider online if I had enough motivation to stick with it (which I'm pretty sure I don't!) . Only you can make the final decision.

I don't know a great deal about on-line membership but as you won't get any RL support I can't see much difference (other than personal access to website) between getting books and coming on here. I'd check carefully what exactly on-line offers you before signing up.
If you don't think groups are for you then you could just go once and get the talk and a set of books. That'll cost you about £10 or £5 if you use a free membership voucher.0 -
