Mrs Ryan - Good luck for tonight, looks like a daunting night for both of us - but I bet we will be just fine. What are you studying? I hope it turns out to be a great distraction for you.

Beanie - I've always been a little self conscious - think it comes from a few issues not just my size! My mind hasn't caught up with my body yet and I still see myself as a Size 20 not a 14 - need to work on that. TBH I can't even see the 5 stone off myself, maybe 2 but not that much!

Maman / Denise- how long did it take to kick in with you?

TMW - of course - all in who wants to be in!

Did I hear Shala say that she wanted to do the chart again??

How have you found it 2b and how are you getting on? Your very quiet!!!!!

I didn't have much to lose so was only going down from a 12-14 down to a size 10.

Even though I lost the weight I still find I'm not always at a 10 and need to wear a 12 for a few days.

As long as I can maintain my weight (well within target range!) I see myself as being slim.

Yes Lantanna, we can definitely motivate each other;). My local gym is also all shapes and sizes, I have only ever seen (a few years ago) a lycra clad skinny lady and she stood out far more than I have ever seen / noticed anybody else.
I get bored very quickly, and like to mix it up with various classes, I only go to the ones I enjoy and if the class takes it too seriously then its an instant not for me. Tonight was a 45 min gym, the kids at music for 2 hours, so I drop everyone off, then nip (5 mins from music teachers) then back within an hour, then my husband does the same so we both get a quick workout. Tomorrow night I'll do a 45 min aerobic class (whilst dd2 and 3 are swimming lessons) and then 15 minutes in gym, (dave will be in the gym for the whole time). Very much have to grab the time when you can in our house!
I also always go on my own regardless. I never wait for someone to join me as it never happens. I have "friends" (have an ace zumba buddy) who I chat to at the classes but if I relied on someone being there, it would for me, easily become an excuse not to go and I don't need any help...

I consider myself to be fat but actually relatively fit, as I exercise at least 3x a week (and sweat lots) but clearly have bad eating habits :(

Please can I vote for an earlier challenge? We go away at Easter and I will be grateful for a STS those weeks....

Good luck tonight MrsR. I'm sure you'll discover you actually enjoy it. A friend of mine has been doing an Open Uni course, and absolutely loves the meet ups she does with other people doing the same course.

Lantanna - you'll find you just fit in fine at the gym I'm sure. I joined a gym when I was a size 18, and felt very self-conscious, but I wasn't the largest there, and the average size of the ladies was size 14-18. In fact the more curvaceous ladies were the ones that took it more seriously, and the skinny minnies tended to come in, chat to their mates and not put in much effort, and not come regularly.
If the instructor is super-fit, whoo-hoo! I see that as a definite bonus ;)

I think 2b said she liked doing the chart because it kept her on track.

Happy with doing the new challenge on any dates - not that I met my quite frankly wildly optimistic target this time. *sighs*

p.s. lasagne was scrummy tonight, but think there may be a strong wind brewing as a consequence

  • Just back from my week 5 weigh in, 6lb off giving a running total of 31lb.

I'm following the Extra Easy plan so am basically eating as much free foods as I want, and plenty of fruit and veg as well.

I make a big bowl of salad every couple of days and have that with almost everything. Also making a lot of fruit cocktails.
Home made soup's normally always on hand as well for lunch.

Syns are normally just things like cheese spread/milk (depending on A choice), extra light mayo, sweet chilli dipping sauce, perhaps some gravy granules for a casserole or an occasional packet of French fries

Drinking at least 3-4 litres of fluids a day, normally plain water, sparkling water, tea or diluting juice.

I don't plan my daily eating as such, just make sure there's plenty available.

For exercise, I've walked around 24 miles in the past week.

Long way to go, but getting there.
  • 2b can you put me down for 1lb loss this week making my total lost in the Valentines Challenge 8lbs, thank you. Slightly disappointed not to have got closer to the stone off but it wasn't for lack of trying. Will keep plodding.

Not a bad day today, think I've used all my syns but I've enjoyed them!

Breakfast - strawberries and a banana

Dinner - Tuna pasta salad (1) and worcester sauce french fries (4)

Snack - lean ham sandwich on HEXB bread with lighter butter/ketchup (4)

Tea - Trimmed bacon, poached egg, plum tomatoes, mushrooms and SW chips with an extra slice of HEXB (400g warburtons - 3?)

    Options (2) later.

Not a lot of body magic (2 twenty min speed walks)

The Easter/March challenge sounds good to me :T
