2b please can you put me down for a 2lb loss.
As mentioned earlier I would have been happy with a loss so I will take that and run with it!
Well done to all the losers, poohbear and lantana
Hugs to those that need it
Welcome spendlesskaren and Geeves!!
I have to admit I am one of those weighers that does not count a Thursday evening (wi day for me) we call it the twilight zone in group. I used to use this as motivation for the rest of the week when I was being good. So I would always have a take away of sorts and start a fresh on the Friday. Previously this would work for me and I lost 2.5 stone this way, however I find if I 'treat' myself on a Thursday it sometimes drags into the weekend, and I would spend Mon-Thurs trying to claw it back.
After my hols I am changing groups when wi day will be at 7pm on a Wednesday so we will see how this goes. I have to say I was a bit disappointed with my consultant, I felt like she completely avoided me yesterday, I must admit I felt quite embarrassed about how I reacted last week, but I didn't even get a textSo I am changing groups and hopefully will get my moneys worth.
Geeves in response to your question about plans, I tend to stick to mainly red days. I originally joined in 2009, and apart from the increase in HEXA cheese allowance there isn't really anything else that has changed that makes a difference to my meal plans. Minimims is a great site for the difference syn allowances so maybe have a look there.0 -
Well, things went from bad to worse - not 1 gazillion syns, more like two gazillion!
Couldn't have my soup 'cos OH ate it for lunch - along with the last of the eggs for tomorrow's lunch.
I then discovered that the recipe for the chicken tikka masala required an overnight marinade. Well I could do that, but there would be no time to prepare the curry before we leave, as I have be out in the morning and I've no intention of getting up at stupid o'clock. Rethinking plan but not hopeful of anything sensible. Not shopping before Sunday so not much in - that was OH's excuse for eating the soup and eggs. So I've had 4 pieces of shortbread and 2 slices from a Scottish plain loaf with butter and cheese. So there!
Oh well tomorrow is another day. Fingers crossed I'll wake up in a better frame of mind. Going to bed now, before I eat any more rubbish.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -
Green tiger - have the weekend off this is life and sometimes life gets in the way of best laid plans ?
Where you making the chicken tikka? I've made it a few times now and marinating over night or 1 hour doesn't make much of a difference just the meats a bit spicier which I don't like lol xxx
Between my dd teething and me being uncomfortable think I've seen every hour last night
My sw week has fell apart this week - can't eat without pains even a sw meal causes painsoh well can't even say draw a line under it really, just need to try and stay within syns I guess when I'm snacking on stuff for energy pick me ups

Becks - well done on your loss.
Hopefully your new consultant will be more supportive xx
As much as I've laughed at some of the texts from my consultant and I know that she sends the same to everyone its still a nice touch to get a text to remind you that she's there xxxStarted sw 02/09/13 - total loss so far -5st 1lb

Morning all,
it's a shame there's such a difference in consultants isn't it. It really does help so much more if you have a good one, but I suppose it's like any job - some people put their all in and some people just do enough to get paid.
Mildredd, let's hope your appointment comes through fast, I hate not having enough sleep. Does your little one still nap - grab a few minutes as well if you can!!
Well I hadn't planned today at all eating wise so I was starting to panic, but I've just found some recipes in the new magazine that I'm going to try - on my own tonight as OH is going out with friends.
B - banana, yogurt
L - pizza toasts, baked apple (heb and a)
T - buffalo chicken, coleslaw, SW fries, salad, key lime pie (without the biscuit base) all recipes from the mag
S - 2 slices of pepperoni (2ish) not sure until I weigh them,
Unfortunately I've lost count of my weekly syns as I've had a few things other than I listed on here so I'll just keep them low today. I'm not sure I have the memory to span a whole week of totting up syns
:rotfl:
Also I won't be synning the baked apple, I understand why you should but I'm only eating the same amount as I would raw so I don't see the need.Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Lantanna, I've looked at syns online and there's a veritable Chinese menu on there but definitely no curry!! And I thought consultants were meant to be knowledgeable!:rotfl:
Sorry to hear you're feeling poorly denise. Hopefully the medication will kick in PDQ.
There's obviously something going on with Chinese restaurants at the moment as we were told last week about the dish that went up in syns (can't remember which one at the moment). When I questioned it my consultant said that it was probably a change in the sauce mixture that many restaurants bought in wholesale but advised me to 'put my trust in the people at SW head office'. That really irritates me. Happy clappy is one thing but blind faith is another!!
Welcome Karen. One plus of being retired is that you should have plenty of time to meal plan and cook from scratch. To me, that's the first secret of Slimming World. If you have a plan you're far less likely to eat the 'wrong' foods and if they aren't even in the house then that's easier still. The second is to eat plenty of fruit and more especially veg. Will you be cooking just for yourself? Two? Family? Also, having a WI on a Thursday is good because if you do go astray at the weekend you have Monday-Wednesday to play catch up. Any questions, just ask.:)
EE menu for today:
B: NAS Ribena, HEA milk and HEB Shreddies
L: bubble & squeak with pickles and cold meat?SW Bolognese
Syns: weekend wine:j
I've not been feeling hungry at lunchtime. Then when I am hungry later I'm conscious that it'll soon be supper time. I haven't done a proper shop for 2 weeks so today I must get in some fruit as a stand-by snack.
I will be cooking for 3 adults, myself and my 2 grown children. My son will eat whatever he is given and my daughter is happy to follow the plan too.
I will hopefully pick up the magazine on Thursday for some inspiration for meals. Also Pinterest has some good SW boards which I have looked through
Thanks for the lovely welcomes everyone, I am quite excited to get going0 -
Hi Mildredd, Thanks for taking the time to give a good dose of encouragement! How could you know that being told to have the weekend off just strengthens my resolve to do better and put in a bigger effort! And I'm out for lunch at least twice next week!
Any hoo, I had ML vanilla yogurt with blueberries and strawberries for breakfast. Found a couple of big spuds at the bottom of the veg bag, so I'll have a beany jacket for lunch. And we will have the chicken curry when we come home - I found a Schwartz mix (just a wee bit out of date) and I've thrown everything into the slow cooker - combination of recipe ingredients I had and what the packet wanted. According to syns online the mix is 3.5 for the packet, so 1 syn is not bad
Mildredd, we do like our food spicy! Hope you are feeliing a bit perkier. Oh I remember the teething times - aaaaagh! Thanks for caring for us all.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -

My consultant has just had her fourth child. She's not brilliant at the best of times but now she has an extra reason for just managing to do the basics. We get the odd email but I think that's when she has a pang of conscience but everything soon reverts to the normal.....zilch. I think this thread is the best for support between WIs.
I use the 105 syns a week bank method. I suppose it's relatively easy for me to keep track as my syns are generally in multiples of the syns in a glass of wine which I know off by heart!:o When I was getting to target I used to keep a food diary. Not the SW one but my own in a notebook and record all my syns on there (subtract with a running total). Over time I've just got to know how I'm doing but putting my menus on here helps too.
My sw week has fell apart this week - can't eat without pains even a sw meal causes painsoh well can't even say draw a line under it really, just need to try and stay within syns I guess when I'm snacking on stuff for energy pick me ups
Roll on your appointment. It's odd that SW menu sparks off the pains as I thought it was mainly fatty things that trigger gall bladder pain and SW is very low fat.
Good news that everyone will eat on plan Karen. When you first start, most people find they've got things in the cupboard/freezer that aren't suitable but not very mse to throw out. You'll be able to feed anything like that to your children! The SW site has a 7 day menu (as do the magazines) that give you a good idea how to start. When you've joined and have access to the website there's plenty of recipes on there too. personally I tend to eat much as I ate before but adapted to SW (e.g. switch to Frylight instead of oil and half syn sausages).
So far today I've had my HEB and some HEA in porage for breakfast. I have HM vegetable soup for lunch and I'm going to take out a couple of cooked chicken legs to defrost for snacking. Later, we're off to an evening wedding reception and staying over. It's a fairly upmarket hotel so there should be plenty of breakfast choices and I'm hoping the buffet will offer more than a few sausage rolls! They should be the last off-plan meals until WI next Thursday.0 -
Hi Everyone
I am back in the zone! YAY! Congrats to all the losers, and putter-onners we can totally do this! *high fives everyone*
Weigh in on Thursday , I put on 1.25lbs - so that was the kick I needed to get back on the horse, though its not even been 2 days and we have a party to go tonight, so let's see how that goes! I am expecting to go a little off plan as there is a buffet, and I'll want some drinks! Im going to swap my usual wine for a G&T, I think though. Is slimline tonic free does anybody know?
