I'm not happy to be a sw member like in my group who have been going for years and are 1/2 stone lighter than when they started :/ I accept everyone has gains but to be going for years and years and to accept 1 off 2 on 1.5 off 1 on etc just isn't for me

I think they must be everywhere and I think I've heard every excuse going as to why they don't lose much. The only positive thing seems to be that they tell me they would have actually gained more if they hadn't been at SW. So paying £4.95 a week to stop getting fatter!

And then there's the people who are multiple re-joiners!

I think I have lost the plot!!

We'll try and help you find it. Tell all!

Yeah annoying isn't it - that a chicken curry is one of the most popular dishes from the Chinese and we don't know the syns! I should make a point of asking her everyweek until she finds out lol.

You keep at her lantanna;). If she thinks it's on line or on the app, let her find it!

I did have lunch: bubble & squeak (onion, mushroom, cauli, peas and potato) with a pile of pickled cabbage.

I've substituted my Chinese with the sw egg fried rice, I can honestly say it's nicer than what we use to buy (imo), although Dave says it's a bit dry. Might try the goldfish curry with it...

Friday night is usually wine night but currently substituting with 25ml rum and diet coke (in a wine glass) and comes, at 2.5 syns, so I can have several.

I've never done a class, have an old sw book from my mate. I weight myself on the Wii fit and the Wii make that fat noise. Im also using an app to see my progress. I think of money saved as my council gym membership money. Getting my team hug feeling from here:T

  • Hi everyone.

Hope you are all well, or at least getting better for those who have been sick!

I've decided I need to get back into the slimming world zone!

I got down to target a few years ago after 6 months on the plan and stayed there for a good while. Over the years though I have fluctuated up and down and in the last 6 months have got stuck at my current weight and have decided enough is enough and want to get it under control as the trend is upwards right now!

I don't have a huge amount to lose, a stone and a half and know I can do it if I sick to it.

So it's time to dust of the old books, I've had a look around some forums and don't think too much has changed.

In people's experience with the extra easy plan, do you tend to just stick to that or do you do some days red/green and some extra easy?

Also when I really don't have time to prepare and cook in advance due to shift work, I sometimes take the M&S fuller for longer meals into work for lunch and dinner.

Are these loaded with syns even though they are not high in calories? I can't find my old big food directory with the values in and a lot the meals have been updated since then so wouldn't be listed anyway.

I don't eat a lot of takeaways and am on a chocolate and cake ban until my holiday end of march as I can't be trusted to just have a small bite for the taste!!

My downfall is portion size and cake and not cooking properly when I'm tired!

Made this tonight and it was delicious! Thank you so much for the recipe. I couldn't find the fenugreek leaves in Asda so left them out.
    :j

The indian chicken sounds yummy, I must try it. Out of curiosity, why is ginger/garlic paste synned? I use those and sometimes the Lazy garlic/chilli/ginger and frozen ginger. I've never synned any of them and perhaps I should?

I dont syn the lzy/frozen stuff but the paste is 1 syn according to my consultant.

The syns are because of the oil content of the paste and the oil to preserve or bind the lazy garlic/ginger/chili etc.

I seem to remember there being one of the pataks curry pastes that had no sins, but I can't remember which one and they may have changed it since I last was on plan.

I did have a quick search, but think I might see of anyone has a more up to date directory on ebay.

There's a few things I take to work with me regularly that aren't in the old book (2009!). I'd like to carry on eating those things if possible or make an alternative list if they are all loaded with syns so think I need a book!

    Afternoon all :)
Lovely sunny day here. I decided to make the most of it and went for a 4 mile walk in the sunshine- I went out wearing a hoodie and big coat and came back wearing my hoodie tied round my waist and my coat open- I was boiling! Got all my windows open to air the house. It makes a lovely change from the rain, it's been like a summers day! I didn't have the best start to the day so it cheered me up a bit.
    Today's menu plan:

B: 2 HEXB cereal bars (1 HiFi Rocky Road, 1 Alpen light cherry bakewell) cup of coffee with HEXA s/s
L: Mushy pea curry, lemon and coriander couscous from Aldi (1.5 syns) fresh strawberries, Aldi Brooklea f/f yoghurt (1.5 syns) pint of NAS cordial with sparkling mineral water
T: Quorn peppered steaks, steamed mixed veg, probably a bit of Smash with HEXA milk, Aldi Brooklea f/f yoghurt (1.5 syns), mini Milkybar (3.5 syns) pint of NAS cordial
S: Scrambled eggs, ham, cherry tomatoes, seafood sticks, Pink N White (2.5)
I got the munchies chronic so my menu changed a little :o
    Total syns: 10.5
    Body Magic: 4 mile walk
    Hope everyone's ok xx
