Maman - funny that your consultant told you that mine said that the values where based on a cross section of takeaways and was probably wrong to start with? Chicken chow mein increased from 7.5 to 16.5 but beef chow mein stayed at 8.5 :) so once again the official sw line is different - proof not to put all my faith in sw :

HelendaveAndkids that's the attitude I have most of the time - I'm not happy to be a sw member like in my group who have been going for years and are 1/2 stone lighter than when they started :/ I accept everyone has gains but to be going for years and years and to accept 1 off 2 on 1.5 off 1 on etc just isn't for me
Started sw 02/09/13 - total loss so far -5st 1lb

I'd crack if I was one of those members! There was a girl in group last night who said she had eaten a ton of choc and crisps before getting weighed and (not first week btw) and then told us all she was getting a Chippy after - as a Thursday doesn't count in her week!! She does this every week and can't see why she never gets anywhere!!!!!

My advice Helen would be as hard as it is at times just keep plodding and sticking to it as much as you can as it will come off in the end. We do all have natural variations in Body weight throughout the month and best to take an overall view of it - trust me I know lol You get a few rubbish weeks and then out of the blue you get a great one. Mildredd I've just discovered my consultant is 5.4 and is now 11.2 and looks great - looks skinny and about a 10 at the most! Thought I'd share as I know we are around the same stats and not sure where are goal will be.

So looking forward tonight to getting home - nice wee stirfry for tea and then a wee chill out with some catch up tv.

Yeah people say monday doesn't count in my group
I do allow myself a little bit of a treat on a monday and don't count the syns but its never a massive amount of syns really x

    I haven't a clue where ill be happy - I'm 5 7 :/
My consultant isn't at target ... I'm aiming for 6 off and then ill see how I feel if after 1.5 I'm happy ill stop there ;) if I'm not happy at another 2 ill keep going ;) xxx

Today I've had a cup of tea :/ can't face anything :/ this is going to mess my weight loss journey up :(

My consultant said they changed the syns on chow mein after investigating various takeaways because they are putting together a new book "fakeways"! Wonder if that one will be worth buying?

Sary - I love quorn products. They are filling, low in calories and fill you up - winner winner chicken dinner :rotfl::rotfl:

Or should that be, winner winner non-chicken dinner?! :rotfl:

lantanna Your consultant doesn't sound particularly friendly, to say the least! I did a bit of an online search to see if I could find the syns for you, and they seem to come in at around 8-10 syns, with a plain boiled rice.

I have lost another 3lbs. Sorry can't change text on my phone.:j:j
Your wish is my command ;)

Re. the Costa Coffee trip. I went last month with son's fiance and she had a toasted sandwich with a mocha. I had an americano coffee with skimmed milk (ask for a mild coffee, or half measure if you don't like your coffee too strong, and would usually have a cappuccino or latte, as it can be a bit full-on). They do have their version of Oat So Simple porridge, but it's the instant type, so has powdered milk, and is roughly 9 syns I believe  They do have fresh fruit in there though, so I bought a banana, and luckily had a satsuma and apple in my handbag, which I had too. Better to go prepared if you're unsure with a Hi-Fi bar and piece of fruit to have with a coffee, or just opt for a normal cup of tea. I used the milk as part of my HEA.

Well, I've had another busy morning, but don't feel I've achieved much. My plan for today will look something like this:

    Today's Plan : EE

B - porridge (big portion) 4.5 syns, sugar 2 syns
L - bacon, lettuce, tomato, cucumber. FF dressing 0.5 syn. Danio yogurt 1 syn
D - Roast chicken, potatoes, cabbage, leeks, carrots, gravy 1.5 syns

Supper - hot chocolate 2 syns

    HeB - porridge
    HeA - Milk

    Total syns - 11.5 syns

I'm really loving my hot chocolate treat each evening, and OH has now taken to having them too.

Denise, I hope you feel better soon.

Cherryscone, hope you're OK, maybe share how you feel, and try to set out an action plan to get back in control?

Helen, sounds like you're on fighting form! That's how I came about my decision to really get with it this time. It's been frustrating because my loss has been much slower this time around, but I'm just plodding on, and set myself achievable timescales to get my loss (basically I have the rest of my life, but 2 yrs would be nice)!

We have some ladies at group who have been going a fair while, but just seem to lose an inital few lbs, then gain/lose/gain/lose the same couple of pounds. I'm not sure if they're on referrals from GP's or not, but as I am paying £4.95 each week, I don't feel I can either justify it, or be as complacent? If I don't lose, it's not for want of trying!

Well, almost the weekend - bring it on.... especially the sleeping part :D
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Mildredd - I always have a little treat as well - but nothing major, last night it was the ww garlic roll. If I'm not having a night out that week or a meal out etc I'll sometimes but not often have a Chinese. Last night I just wanted to be good - so I was lol.

I did buy a funsize flake but never ate it so its in the cupboard for the weekend. I'm so pleased that my motivations returned.

With me I just want my BMI to say I'm not overweight so that's why I've said 10.7. I would say I'm medium boned - not big boned but have the dreaded apple shape, no waist and a big bust so any weight shows easily!

Though looking at my stomach which is the only real place that there seems to be fat left I think it looks like there is about 3 stone to shift there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Sary!

We must of crossed posted! Never thought of taking my Hi Fi s with me - great plan!! I don't drink milk so an Americano is ideal for me, thanks for the idea.

Yeah annoying isn't it - that a chicken curry is one of the most popular dishes from the Chinese and we don't know the syns! I should make a point of asking her everyweek until she finds out lol.

I always count it including the side - normally get half rice and half chips as 30 syns and hasn't done me any harm so far - though only have it once in a while as a treat. Would love to know the real value though!

To be honest I used to do this when I was first doing SW in my 20's - chippy tea every Thursday night and I still lost weight. Obviously now in my late 30's it doesn't quite work the same :(

I'm just watching My 600lb Life on the tv.. anyone else watch it? It's sad that she thinks surgery is the only option for her to lose weight. :( She thinks surgery is going to stop her wanting sugar.. then shocked when she's still craving food. Her husband is an absolute *rse!!!!!
