Very apt x
parking_question_chap - whilst i agree with the points you make in theory, i honestly think a diet of lean protein, low carbs is also not sustainable for some people.
You have to let people lose the weight as they want to and if it's working for them then, hey, at least they're no longer obese/overweight so thats got to be a plus side to their health.
Hi
I didnt say that you should have a low carb nutrition plan.
What I did say was the sample plan provided was too low in fat/protein and too high in carbs.
They are very different things.
I understand what you are saying about people doing what works for them. But the simple fact of the matter is that a low fat diet might work for a few months or more, but eventually it is not sustainable. Why would you start a plan that your body is not physiologically able to keep up long term? it defies logic.
Furthermore body weight and health are not directly linked. You could follow a plan that reduces your body weight, but is actually detrimental to your overall health. A simple example of this would be fat soluble vitamins, if you drop your calories by cutting out fat, you are also drastically reducing your bodies ability to utilise vitamins A,D,E and K....not good!
Google it for yourself if you dont believe me, "why your body needs fat".........0 -
The indian chicken sounds yummy, I must try it. Out of curiosity, why is ginger/garlic paste synned? I use those and sometimes the Lazy garlic/chilli/ginger and frozen ginger. I've never synned any of them and perhaps I should?
Not sure, I used fresh cause that is what I had. Maybe they are in oil to preserve them?0 -

I don't need to google it myself thank you and find that quite patronising. I have read numerous articles about nutrition etc thank you and did consider being a nutritionist once, hence the reason I said I understood your theory but lots of people can't follow your lifestyle either
Anyway you were replying to some one else's post when you originally posted, I was just trying to get another point of view across. I'll leave you to it.Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
That does sound good. I had creamy leeks in a restaurant on Monday and enjoyed those:o. Do you fry the mushrooms, cook the leeks, mix in the frying pan and then just stir through the crème fraiche?
Start frying off the leeks until starting to soften, then add the mushrooms. Season to taste. Once almost cooked stir through the creme fraiche. Enjoy!

Breakfast - toast, jam, melon (2syns)& grapes no melon, it was deceased, an ex-melon, I'm afraid, so doubled up on grapes
Lunch - butternut squash soup added the last of some very lazy ginger - bit more than a teaspoonful in the whole pot - and it was FAB! - so guessing 1 syn for me
Dinner - carbonara with crunchy salad
Snacks - toty bag of chocolate buttons (4syns) not had hexa, so probably crackers, quark and tomatoes (4syns)
Total 11 syns
Thursday's plan

Can I just say how wonderful you lot are! Im really blown away by all of your encouraging comments, it means so much.
I have joined the sw facebook page and am hooked. Im back in the zone and so motivated by all of the before and after pics it really has helped.
I've gone and created a vision poster, it has pictures of outfits I would love to be wearing, and I have broken my weight loss down into 2lbs a week loss, doing it this way I should hopefully be at target around June time. As you can see I've done a huge 360! Oh and sorry if TMI but I had my * week, (Im on the depo so shouldn't really have these - my last one was in April last year) so I think this may have had something to do with me being off the rails
I weigh in tomorrow, but am just going with it, and am then going full gusto for my final week on the challenge, I'm 2lbs up so at least I have lost something.
Congratulations MrsRyan on getting your award:T
Hugs to Mildredd, hope you're not in too much pain.
Lantanna thanks for your kind words you really do keep me going, I am so inspired by your weight loss.
Saint_Chris well done on your first weeks results, keep posting on here, there is always going to be someone around to give you advice on your meal plans or a kick up the bum when you need it!
There are lots of lovely meal ideas on here at the moment, I used to use some crème fraiche in some spinach, add salt and pepper and some nutmeg - was lush!! Haven't had it in a while so will have to do this again at some point.
Well done to the other losers, and those that are sticking to plan. :T:T0
