Good luck with WI Saint_chris, and I'm sure it will be fine. It can take a little while to get into the SW thing, but if you were having more veg than we initially thought, then that doesn't sound so bad after all. Are you a veggie? One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Hiya all  thanks for all your kind words! Well done to all losers and hugs to those that need them. I agree with whoever said low carbs isn't for everyone. When I went low carb it made me ill- that's what I like about SW- rice pasta potatoes and the odd bit of bread! Need my carbs. It's been a study day today so I've been craving like mad... Stress  however I've been quite good! Today's meal plan:
B: HEXB Alpen light cherry bakewell bar and HiFi Rocky Road bar, pint of NAS cordial
Snack: Bowl of strawberries with Mullerlight lemon cheesecake (1 syn) bottle of Diet Coke
L: SW pasta carbonara with HEXA laughing cow blue cheese, mango, pint of NAS cordial
T: Tesco Healthy living hot smoked salmon tagliatelle (7.5 syns) steamed mixed veg, raspberry Mullerlight with crumbled mini Milkybar (3.5 syns) pint of NAS cordial
Syns: 12
Body magic will be 30 mins on exercise bike
And yes thanks everyone- over the moon being in size 16 jeans! I've been trying to get into a pair for ages and so chuffed I've finally succeeded! Think I'm going to have a little nap now after all my studying! Good evening everyone. I am sorry I haven't posted since last week. I have had a 'down' week. I tend to suffer with a touch of SAD this time of year. However, I have just skim read through the posts and wished I had read them earlier in the week. Sometimes when you hear otherhow others coping with things that life throws at them it puts things into a better prosective.
Catt. I hope things improve for you. Stay strong and look after yourself.
xx
Well it should have been my WI day but I chickened out because I didn't want to see a gain ( which would be most likely) so back on the wagon today and will WI next week.
Well done for some fab loses and hugs to those who need them.
so far today I have had : Breakfast - apple, banana
Lunch - 1 slice wm bread (hexB) baked beans
activia fat free yog, apple
dinner - not sure but will involve pasta and chicken and will be from a SW recipie when I find one!
Snack: alpen light bar 3.5 syns
milk in coffee (hexA)0 -
Same here;) and I'm glad it's not just me that's nosey!
I really must buy in a few more frozen veg. All I have at the moment are peas and broad beans (so not SF) or leeks and courgettes which I just add to things so don't think I'd like on their own. I find a bag of green beans a good stand-by but haven't restocked since making space for Christmas.
Sliced leeks and mushrooms done in creme fraishe is really nice. I know it's a few syns but it's lovely with a roast as a different veg.

Just to keep accountable:
B: two boiled eggs, ML and 2 x mandarins
L: chicken and ham salad - no dressingchicken melters (chicken breast topped with bacon, cheese and onions...mine will be all low fat stuff and the family will get the full fat - they're all skinny) with JP and steamed veg
HEXa is the cheese - I'm going to the shop on the way home to get some of those alpen cereal bars or ryvita if they have them...we'll see0 -

But in my defence I put loads of veg, mushrooms, onions, peppers in my dishes, so I was getting a lot of veg, in the cola curry I put loads of veg, and only 2 quorn chicken pieces.
I may not have eaten the best but I've not snacked on crisp toffee or wine, whilst I've been doing this.
I'll read up more later as I'm out the door in 30 mins for my 1st weigh in, feeling a bit disappointed to be honest.
I don't think you got it wrong Chris, it may just need a bit of fine tuning that's all..
I hope you get a good loss this week, if you've given up all the naughties then your half way there anyhow!!
Fingers crossed, i don't want to see you disappointedMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -

Can I just check you are using the little chicken style pieces? They are syn free and as they are only tiny (about the size of a 10p coin perhaps), I think you'd need around a handful per portion. 2 seems really small, so I just wanted to make sure you weren't using something else which would be syns (quorn southern fried portions/nuggets/dippers/ burgers etc are all syns).
Hope your weigh in goes well XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

That does sound good. I had creamy leeks in a restaurant on Monday and enjoyed those:o. Do you fry the mushrooms, cook the leeks, mix in the frying pan and then just stir through the crème fraiche?
As I had to go out for a meeting, I did pop into Lidl. So I got a savoy cabbage to have with my liver and onions and a cauli for tomorrow. I also bought a pack of pork shanks in sauce (chiller) to try as I noticed they were free on the website.
Hope WI goes OK Chris. I expect you will have seen a loss just from cutting out all those 'naughties'. I wouldn't worry about not getting it 100% right the first week. It can be complicated until you get the hang of it. Stick with us and you'll be fine.;)0 -
Her you are my lovely, I added around 1/2 pint chicken stock though as it would have been too dry & I dont see the benefit of cooking the chicken in the oven first - I did it though. I counted 1 syn per portion for the Garlic & Ginger pastes.
South Indian Garlic Chicken - Serves 4
4 Chicken Breasts, chopped
1 Onion, chopped
2 Teaspoons Garlic Paste
1½ Teaspoons Ginger Paste
1 Heaped Teaspoon Turmeric
1 Heaped Teaspoon Curry Powder
1 Tin Chopped Tomatoes
2 Finger Chillies, chopped
Fenugreek Leaves
Salt
Method:
CookChicken in oven for about 15-20 mins or until cooks a little.
FryOnion, add garlic & ginger paste & mix for a couple of minutes.
AddTurmeric & curry powder, mix through.
Addtinned tomatoes, salt & chillies
AddFenugreek Leaves (to your own taste)
Nowadd the cooked chicken & cook through for about 20 mins.
Servewith rice.
Made this tonight and it was delicious! Thank you so much for the recipe. I couldn't find the fenugreek leaves in Asda so left them out.
I added some cauliflower florets and had some spinach leaves left in the fridge so added them too to get my superfree. I have lots left for the freezer :j
menu for today so far:
egg and spinach/butter 2 syns
salad, mozarella (HEa) cottage cheese, peppers, cherry tom, ham, cucumber, lettuce, lots of black pepper
curry and rice (see above)
banana later with a fat free greek yogurt
I had planned to have crackers for my HEb tonight but if I am still full I might just have Alpen bars with a cup of hot chocolate (3 syns)
I am trying to do the 105 syns for the week thing, so I have some flexibility at the weekend.0 -

The indian chicken sounds yummy, I must try it. Out of curiosity, why is ginger/garlic paste synned? I use those and sometimes the Lazy garlic/chilli/ginger and frozen ginger. I've never synned any of them and perhaps I should?0
