Chris,
I thought I would add my opinions on your nutrition plan. I have actually logged in today to ask a question about car servicing, but thought I would have a look at the kind of nutritional advice offered on here.
Buddy, you are not eating enough fat. Fat is an essential macronutrient which the body utlilises for a wide range of functions.
Please please please do not go down the fat free route, it is not sustainable and it is not healthy!
There are so many women at my place of work that go on various types of fat free diets. They lose weight for a while, generally for no longer than a few months, but eventually it finds its way back on. The reason is that their nutrition plan is not sustainable, your body NEEDS fat.
My advice, drop all the low fat cereal bars and junk like that. Replace with either a handfull of nuts or the odd few eggs.
You will feel better, you will feel full and more importantly you will reduce your body fat percentage in a way that you can sustain and most importantly is healthy. A FAT FREE DIET IS NOT HEALTHY.
And if you are wondering why various slimming companies dont tell you this, well, if they did they wouldnt have any rubbish low fat sugary products to sell. If you are ever in doubt when you pick something up off the shelf. Ask yourself if your grandparents would have recognised it when they were growing up. If the answer is no, put it back on the shelf.
Also, I have just researched the nutritional profile of "mug shots", I am curious, why are you eating these?
With regards to the nutrition plan you have posted, on the whole it is too low in fat and protein and too high in carbs. Im not going to comment on most of it, but what I will say is breakfast; imo you would be much better off with something like, natural porridge oats with milk & one egg.
All the best mate, just thought you deserved to be put straight.
Oh, just to add, I am a level 2 qualified REPS fitness instructor currently working through my level 3 personal trainer course (which includes nutrition and weight management). My weight; 13stone 2 pounds at approx 8% body fat.0 -
hi I have been on plan for the last week after a half a pound gain .Trying to get back to my pre Christmas weight .I realized I thought I was on plan previously but was not ,not counting the syns correctly .However still staying the same weight but over the last few months I have had steroid injections not just in the joint but in the muscle so it treats my whole body inflammation.Has anyone else have had trouble with their weight with steroids given in this way.I think when they are given in the joint only and you rest the steroid remains around the joint and does not affect your whole body .I just need to know if it is what I am eating or if its the steroids and my syn requirement might be even less than fifth teen for the time being .Any advice would be appreciated .thanks0

Hi Chris and Scotsman - welcome to the mad house...
parking_question_chap - whilst i agree with the points you make in theory, i honestly think a diet of lean protein, low carbs is also not sustainable for some people.
You have to let people lose the weight as they want to and if it's working for them then, hey, at least they're no longer obese/overweight so thats got to be a plus side to their health.
Not all of us are dazzled by the things that diet clubs tell us, there are some people that just use it as a tool to help them without being suckered into parting with lots of money.
You can get into so many arguments about the best ways to eat - and even the scientists are still researching it - but at the end of the day if people are losing weight then they're losing weight!
Maintenance is a whole different story, even people on the "lifestyle" you describe can fall off the wagon as such and put all their weight back on.
But thanks for your post, it's nice to see your perspective.
p.s. i don't eat mugshots - they're disgusting!!Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
p.s. i don't eat mugshots - they're disgusting!!.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Morning
-1lb for me this week please 2b
Not a whole lot but considering I have been distracted with Paul McKenna etc and had a difficult week stress wise, I am happy.
Just realised only 1 week to go for our challenge, that went by fast! I am going to have to be on plan 100% this week to make it. I am going to try but not put too much pressure on myself because I will fail and binge.
Good luck everyone for this coming week, lets give it our all :j
Forgot to say Congratulations to MrsRyan and hubby, well done0 -
