I wouldn't cook it, the whole house would smell of it :rotfl: It's already cooked and in a tin ;)

I regularly have the tinned mackerel in spicy tomato sauce but haven't tried the Indian one yet - I must look out for it. I agree about cooking mackerel - it stinks the house out

Becks - try not to stress about it too much - maybe your holiday will give you the break you need and you will come back full of motivation and ready to get back on the SW wagon.

    Great discussion on here today...

Well done on your loss Mrslady :T:T

Ohhh i quoted Mildredd but it hasnt come up

Mildredd, I don't use measuring spoons - i've never even thought about it :o i'm rubbish huh? However, it obviously works well as you've lost 4 stone!!!:j Maybe i shall take a leaf out of your book and start - i'm sure my "tbsp" of ketchup wuld be more like 4 :D

mackerel is the smelliest fish on earth.. flatmate cooked some on saturday and i was balking at the stench. I think because of the smell i have never eaten it :o

I don't allow anything too fishy in the house _pale_ can't bear the smell.. it's just vile, that and the after smell of eggs _pale_ (just after being cooked, not the smell after being eaten! :rotfl:)

Becks - sorry you're still feeling unmotivated. How do you feel about it? Do you feel like you need a bit of a break, a break from SW or to carry on? Try just promising yourself to eat healthy for the 10 days before hols instead of sticking to SW lan.. might help.

Well i've managed to be an :A today so far.. mass busy day at work again and i've stuck to plan despite there being Krispy Kremes in the kitchen and a subway lunch ordered!

B - banana (too busy for anything else)
L - bulghar wheat, BNS, onions, chicken, sweet chilli sauce (2)
T - steak pie, actifry chips, big side salad (25g pastry 5 syns)

They sound lovely, I love curry and noodles, could we have the recipes pls?

Her you are my lovely, I added around 1/2 pint chicken stock though as it would have been too dry & I dont see the benefit of cooking the chicken in the oven first - I did it though. I counted 1 syn per portion for the Garlic & Ginger pastes.

South Indian Garlic Chicken - Serves 4

    4 Chicken Breasts, chopped
    1 Onion, chopped
    2 Teaspoons Garlic Paste
    1½ Teaspoons Ginger Paste
    1 Heaped Teaspoon Turmeric
    1 Heaped Teaspoon Curry Powder
    1 Tin Chopped Tomatoes
    2 Finger Chillies, chopped
    Fenugreek Leaves
    Salt
    Method:

CookChicken in oven for about 15-20 mins or until cooks a little.
FryOnion, add garlic & ginger paste & mix for a couple of minutes.
AddTurmeric & curry powder, mix through.
    Addtinned tomatoes, salt & chillies
AddFenugreek Leaves (to your own taste)
Nowadd the cooked chicken & cook through for about 20 mins.
    Servewith rice.

1.5 off for me last night, was hoping for 2 to get my 1/2 stone award but next week for sure * turned up last night just before WI & poo fairy didnt :o.

I am mixing up my HEA & HEB's this week, I like to use them as my treat at night but hoping to do this & lose at least 2 next week!

B - HEB 2 Weetabix & HEA Milk, yellow plum
L - Tinned Salmon with 2 tbsps (Yes I measure too :D) tomato sauce, lettuce, peppers, cucumber, beetroot, caesar dressing (1 syn), strawberries, melon & blueberries.
D - Something quick as swimming lessons with kids tonight, perhaps speedy chicken stir fry.
    Drinks so far - Water 1.5l, 1 x tea, 1 x coffee, 1 x green tea

    Spare milk used for tea/coffee.

Do people actually snack on mugshots and batchelors rices in between meals? And if you do how do u do the 1/3 super free?
In eating loads at meal times but don't feel the need to have a snack :/
My NHS bmi calculator suggested I eat between 1800 n 2k calories to lose weight? But I don't count calories as a general rule xxx

Yeah I'm a saddo I use measuring spoons - for everything as my dollops are massively out so extra syns over a week I could have a curly wurly instead lol plus our teaspoons vary in size n my chosen one would be the big one ;)

I'm having my celebration Chinese tonight ;) so will cut back syns for the rest of the week :)

And have a fruit supper ;)

I'm mixing up hexs again this week - hexa bores me though milk or cheese :(

Need to get to sainsburys for the flavoured synfree coffee that sounds so gooooooood xxx

Tinned mackerel - there's a massive variance in syns of some brands lovelies be careful :)

Thought I was alone in thinking free food wasnt really unlimited free?
But I just can't accept it is x the book says balanced or moderate or along those lines and well sw is meant to be for life and making life changes ?
If I'm peckish I do tend to reach for fruit and nas squash first in the hope of it being a bored rumble then I haven't wasted syns for when I need a freddo ;)

Becks hope your okay - everyone has times of feeling that way I promise

Catt/frogga/tie/mrs Ryan - your absence has been noted :(

    Thinking about it?
Sw isn't set in stone anyway?
The difference in what consultants tell groups varies massively?
My friends c tells them smash pizza is fine lasagna crisps fine etc? Mine is a big no and must be synned ?
Syns should be used daily? Syns can roll over? Flexi days? All groups get told different?
So until sw have a uniform front on exactly what is the way to do everything I will do it how suits me?

Ie I copied Maman and its better for me and my eating habits to make sure I have 1/3 of my days food as super free instead of worrying about every meal? Or breakfast tends to be 100% fruit most days as that's all I can face but I have to eat x

I dont feel the need to snack either, if I am peckish before dinner then I would have a bit of fruit or something, I usually have my ryvita & sweet chilly philly at night to look forward to so we shall see how it goes with me mixing them up.

My consultant is of the opinion that if you do have tweaks...ie smash pizza/lasagne crisps & you are losing & are happy with your losses then carry on....but, if you are not happy then LOOK at what you are eating, go back to basices & write everything down, "if you bite you write" as she said last night "We didn't all come through the door tonight because we ate too many carrots now did we" :rotfl::rotfl:

I also found out in group last night that chinese takeaway values have changed, the syns in a chicken chow mein are now 16.5 . I dont do takeaways a lot, do my own fakeaways but just a wee note to remember for those who don't go to class :D

My Fitness Pal says I need to have 1200 calories a day to loose weight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So there is quite a difference there – but to me 1200 is shockingly low!
Enjoy that Chinese J ! My fave as we all know lol

Where are they hiding!
I don’t snack on anything between meals any time other than in the evening it tends to get me when I’m watching tv but would never have Mug Shot etc. I try to keep my HE or syns for these times.
Shala – Think I have had two Subways since last April – only time I miss them really is the summer. Good for you for resisting - they have a very distinctive smell!

thanks for the curry recipe Macpep1, looks nice. Would it be ok to use fresh garlic and ginger since that is what I have or do you think the pastes are nicer? I am going to try it tomorrow I think, could just do with a nice curry

I think they made it a bit hotter (It was a tad nippy for me lol) for some reason but would say the fresh stuff would work just as well, I keep tubs of frozen chilli/garlic/ginger in the freezer so had to use some frozen chillies as I didnt have fresh but had the pastes so used them, if you use fresh then that will make it free :T. It was tasty, OH had what was left last night (I also only had 3 chicken breasts) :rotfl:
